Introduction
Individuals create and at times state theories that explain events and circumstances. The term theory is used in daily language when people attempt to make connections to understand an event or influence another’s understanding of the reason or justification for a circumstance (Merriam-Webster 's collegiate dictionary, 2016). However, there is more to the term theory. Defining theory has been the subject of great inquiry across various disciplines. If a small group of academic researchers were asked to define theory each person would have submit a different definition, yet the core concept of what theory is would be consistent.

A requirement for any basic theory needs a clear and concise description of the phenomena or behavior being studied that clarifies the relationship among the constructs or entities. In the scientific community developing or building a theory needs to produce further interest in the field of study. Wacker discussed fecundity as an important element in the same manner as having heuristic value. Moore (2013) noted that science should be theoretically liberated to entertain concepts involving unobservable for explanatory or heuristic purposes (Moore, J., 2013).

There are some sharp differences between the authors explanation of a theory. Moore, who critiqued behaviorism by providing various viewpoints of the branch of psychology, defined a theory as a provisional statement with the aim to postulate theoretical constructs that can account for past, current, and future observations in order to invoke observable variables that operationally define the theoretical constructs in the theory (Moore, J., 2013). However, Wacker stated three major criticisms of theory or theories in general: do not have to be applied, it does not make significant improvements exterior of a clinical setting, and theory does not exist due to the lock of measurement of definitions.
For behaviorist, applying theory in order to evoke observable changes in the environment using precise operational definitions counters the general perceptions of theory. Furthermore, Wacker noted theories needed to be unique to conserve current theories and said new theories should be superior in order to apply them to more areas.

There are two limitations to Behavior Theory, is that just because people learn the practices and behaviors does not mean they will be able to enact the theory properly. It is easy to learn why or how to do these behaviors, but knowing when to behave one way or another, and becoming adept in these behaviors is a far more challenging task. A second weakness, is adaptability. There is a lack of knowledge on how behavior theory can be used in various cultural contexts and situations. One behavior that works in one situation may not be universal enough to work in another situation.
Theories are used as explanations of an experiment or study. A theory can be tested and then is used a predictor of something. People in criminal justice use criminological theories to explain why individuals commit crimes and based off of these theories, they can also see try to predict whether people will commit crimes and based off this try to prevent individuals from offending. In the criminal justice work field another set of theories are used called Management Theories. Similar to criminological theories, management theories can also help predict and explain people’s behavior. Management theories help explain behavior in the workplace. They are executed to aid in the expansion of employee output.

There are many definitions to theory. According to Akers (2009) “theories are tentative answers to the commonly asked questions about events and behavior” (Akers, (2009, p. 1). Theory is a set of interconnect statements that explain how two or more things are related in two casual fashions, based upon a confirmed hypotheses and established multiple times by disconnected groups of researchers.
The social world has provided us with multiple perspectives when it comes to various topics. A theory is a system of ideas intended to explain something based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained. All three views of crime were created by theorists as an attempt to explain the causes of human behaviors. Each theory offers a variety of explanations for the multiple perspectives the world has.

If I were to evaluate a theory and choose the one that I had to accept then I would take away something from all of the theories that we learned about. Theories are created through existing data. However, a theory may not necessarily be correct but it does give us a better understanding of concepts in that it gives people to either prove them correct or wrong. All in all, understanding is being created. Plus, our book stated that “the best available explanation of personality comes from using the best of all the theories rather than attempting to use one or a few of them” (531).
Behaviorism is a branch of psychology that has a theoretical approach that gives emphasis to the study of behavior in place of the subject of the mind or the physiological correlates of one's behavior. Behavior is the externally visible response to a stimulus of an animal or human (Weidman). B.F. Skinner is one of the most prominent psychologists of the study of behaviorism. Skinner was on the advance of behaviorism. B.F. Skinner created a group of theories that set out to prove that subjective impetus is not what behavior in humans and animals is so much based on but that behavior is more based on possible reward received and chastisement applied to the animal or human (Newsmakers). Skinner entered into the branch of behaviorism in the 1920s. Behaviorism was still a fairly new branch to psychology at this time. However, Skinner's experiments in his libratory were broadly consideration to be electrifying and ground-breaking, illuminating an knowledge of human behavior and logistics (Newsmakers). Skinner called such behavior based on possible reward received and chastisement that was followed by the repetition of that behavior operant.
A theory is a set of statements that describes, explains and predicts human behavior. Development of behavior starts during the prenatal stage up to late adulthood. Three theories that help describe behavior are the perspective of Freud, Erikson and Paget’s. All three theories have several similarities as well as differences. The new concept that Watson presented perceived behavior as a physiological response to environmental stimuli. He disagreed with the belief that mental processes could not be studied scientifically (Behaviorism, 2013). Watson sought to make psychology “a purely objective, experimental branch of natural science,” with conditioning as one of its chief methods (Irvine, 2007).
