Due to a great amount of revenues that is generated through oil, providing capital should not be a problem (Foster 1). From an economic standpoint, a couple of advantages of doing business in Nigeria are that not only is the population growing. The country has abundant supply of oil meaning that revenues for the countries will be stable. However, infrastructures such as access to clean water are a problem. Also, crude oil is Nigeria main industry and even though there is an abundant supply of crude oil, it may eventually run into financial problems when supplies are limited.

Although McDonald has been successful in other foreign markets and understand what it takes to do business in other countries, McDonald should initiate this new venture with a local company due to the country being teeter with political instability. However, since corruption and poor macroeconomic management is common in Nigeria, hiring local employees may be a problem.

Greed and leadership incompetence has provoked Nigeria’s sociopolitical and economic crisis. Value such as respect and responsibility should be taught to its citizens and without “value” education, the economy cannot grow and prosper. Nigeria’s fundamental approach to leadership is also troubling. Leaders have the ability to influence and make a difference in the lives of the citizens, but fail to do so because leader’s primary goals are self-enrichments (Dike 5). As mentioned previously, McDonald is committed to their people by providing opportunity and training to develop leaders and reward any achievement. It will be extremely difficult to develop and nurture people in Nigeria in hoping they can become leaders.
