Typically, this is diagnosed by the age of 3 or as early as 18 months with abnormal development. Children and adults with Autistic disorder often have a hypersensitivity, are socially underdeveloped as well as communication. They have the stereo type of repetitive behaviors such as spinning things, tapping and or rocking movements. They may prefer one sound or texture over another while a different sound or texture could send them into a tantrum or scare them. After that was found to not work many people with this disorder were put into institutions and given the bare minimum to exist. People with any sort of metal disorder were treated very poorly as the medical professionals were unaware of any form of treatment or medications. Today there is still no “treatment or cure”.
