This generation is driven by social interaction through the heavy connection done on social media cites such as; Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, among others (Zheng Wang, Z.W. & John M. Society places an enormous amount of value and credibility to the popularity and following one can obtain through the various platforms. This has ultimately altered the way we perceive the development of Social cognition and in many cases this can be harmful to the way one interacts with others. Although there is much importance placed on Social Media, the professional world will not hire applicants based off how many followers one has on Instagram. The things that will ultimately influence the future and success in just about any career field will be the core Social Cognition skills developed at a young age through face to face communication. Skills like interpreting other feelings and actions, appropriate behaviors and speech etc... These skills can only be obtained through the in person interactions that our society so desperately dreads to have. Now that being said Social media can be a very good, helpful tool. Websites like LinkedIn which is strictly for professional profiles only can help people find jobs and be placed where they want be placed. There is good and bad when it comes to Social Media and how it is effecting the way Social cognition is developed but society must embrace the good and use it to the advantage of all in order to grow more opportunities of
