Drug testing is essential to the public to prevent substance abuse. Since drug users tend to abuse drugs in any way they can get out of. The benefits of drug testing help society to be safe. Also drug testing can change the community to become more successful. Safety of workplaces often gives drug testing due to preventing violence and safety at workplaces for employees. Drug testing can be a hardship for drug users due to they sometimes need it for medicine, but some other people take advantage of drug usage that makes society unsafe. When employees get hired, they get a drug test due to the fact that the drug testing can prove if the person they are hiring is a good person for their business. For an example “Approximately eighty-one percent of companies in the United States administer drug testing to their employees.” Drug testing also proves that people who passes it are clean and responsible people who the company can trust on doing their job well done and showing overall percentage of the US using drug testing (Chodorow). People who cheat on a drug test and gets a job will later ruin their job of getting into accidents during working and or start a fight with the boss or coworkers unknowingly just because they were high on drugs. That is why companies strive to do drug tests every time they hire an employee now due to the fact that they don’t want to be reliable for an employee who isn’t responsible and trustworthy of their time at their company. Which it will affect the company financially once employees gets hurt on their job. An employee who is not a drug abuser can really benefit a company by not causing trouble for themselves getting hurt in the company and also the business not being reliable for anything that is caused by the employee; who was not responsible. The drug tests and medical effects are very obvious. For examples “Addicts cannot function as normal as other people.” They abuse, their families, and eventually need a medical treatment (Kleiman). When they are on drugs they won’t realize what they say and or do to others that love them and or strangers until their drugs fades away. People who use drugs to try to be social to people are those who need and or seeking help from others but really can’t say it due to embarrassment. Drug users are smart and but just can’t help themselves anymore due to the drug effects on their mind and body. When they have no more drugs in their body, they get sick and go through withdrawals. People need to be aware of the effects so they can avoid the problems. Also research shows that drug test can help families or loved one confirm that drug abuse; actually occurring and providing evidences.
