There has been many sacrifices that have been done throughout my high school years. High school brought so much stress into my life due to all the work that must be completed. Good grades aren’t just given to the student, but must be earned. If a person doesn’t struggle to be successful, that person didn’t give it their all. For example, in the article Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer, it states “Weathers countered that his vision was likely to improve as soon as the sun crept higher in the sky.” Weathers struggled summiting, but he never gave up on what he wanted to accomplish. This is the same as the sacrifices faced in school. I have had struggles where i believe that I can’t finish an assignment, but then I realize what i want to be in life …show more content…

Being able to achieve success in high school has driven me to move on and continue making good decisions to better myself. Another reason i have moved on to make better decisions to better myself is my family. Family is the most important thing in my life and making them proud is my number one priority. “Girlish and reserved, the 47-year-old Namba was 40 minutes away from becoming the oldest woman to climb Everest and the second Japanese woman to reach the highest point on each continent…” (Krakauer 222). Namba reaching her goal motivated her to keep pushing. This relates to high school because if you see a positive outcome, it also motivates you to keep going. Life in high school can be extremely hard, but giving up shouldn’t be an option. A person must do everything possible to be someone in life and win as much as possible. In Exploiting The Sherpas by Billie Mandelbaum it states, “ In Nepal, where the average person makes less than $700 each year…” (1). A sherpa takes many risks in order to earn more money in which it also relates to struggles in high school to earn what you desire.
