The Importance Of Being Overconfident

People always say be confident, but opposed it. I believe being overconfident leads to arrogant attitude, which ultimately leads to failure. One time I had been too confident in my own ability that leads me to one of my failing experience: academic grade. This failing experience dwindled my self-confident and self-esteem that would still affect me today.
My story began in elementary school, where I was a straight A student, making all A’s in every class that I had attended. However, when I was in sixth grade, I made my first B. This was caused by an essay grade, which usually weighed heavily. I had never written an essay in elementary, just short stories, but with the confidence I had in my past school years, I became arrogant and thought middle school would be as easy as it was in elementary. When I received the assignment, I had two weeks to finish and turn the assignment in, which seems like plenty of time to compose a short writing. Thus, I relaxed and procrastinated for two weeks and did other tasks that I thought was more important, such as homework for other classes and chores. Before the day the assignment was due, I remember about the assignment and frantically began writing my essay. Lowering my self-esteem made me become hesitant about many things, especially academic work. I especially became afraid of writing something that is wrong and unrealistic. Nowadays, I began to make the similar mistake, procrastinate my work. I would wait to last few days to complete any assignment. But every week, I would make a to-do list to keep me on task. Also, most of the time I am not motivated to do anything. But I have an intimidating friend that drives me to do my academic assignments: pressure. Whenever I am under pressure, I tend to do and complete more work. These factors had helped me survived the past few school
