The internet, newspapers, texts, emails, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat; all of these have made a giant impact on the world and our everyday lives. Social media has become a worldwide phrase, not said every day, but it is used every hour, every minute, every second. People have come to use social media and they have incorporated it into their routines. With many great possibilities through social media, there is also a dark side to this story. A rift has opened between connections within human beings, almost to the state where we may lose our natural connections to the world around us.

Cell phones have given us the power to feel secure and protected, but they can only do so much. While phone companies advertise their plans, they are also trying to protect phones and the shared data through each app. Data can be distributed to another person without the user knowing, which is why companies have created security measures within each cell phone to make sure nothing is lost or stolen from the original user.

Now if social media were to automatically edit each person’s comments and instantly make them kinder, it would still spread a wrong message, as some people may still take it the wrong way. If you post one wrong comment, it goes viral and haunts you forever. The negativity that comes with social media has brought so much chaos and even fatalities. The internet can be a happy and kind place or a very dangerous, dark place. It is pretty scary to think what would happen if the whole world only used the internet, and nothing else…
