This research paper will examine two articles related to the costs of college. Article 1, titled The Cost of College: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow, discusses the cost of college over the past few years. It looks at the rising cost of education, and it compares that to society’s general inflation and health care costs. It continues by looking at the costs for an in-state, out-of-state, and private university student. Public colleges must be affordable to anyone who wishes to attend. If colleges lack to provide this to students, it can affect dropouts, a student’s ability focus, and cause stress. The problem of lack of funding is that colleges have insufficient funds. Therefore, the best possible solution for the problem of lack of funding would be increasing and collecting more funds from state taxes.
