The Correct Packaging Materials To Use When Shipping A Package When you are preparing to package items it is important to use the proper packaging materials. There are different materials for various items. If you are shipping a package through the mail it requires different supplies than packaging items to move yourself. Heavy items require extra attention as does fragile items. There are two basic types of packing materials, either plastic or paper. Both have several categories and should be used appropriately. Smaller items being mailed could be sent in envelopes if there is sufficient thickness to protect the item; however, larger items may require a box or tube with a filling for added protection. Boxes come in a vast majority of sizes and shapes but if you want the item to be protected it is crucial to use an appropriate size box. If you are packing glass or fragile items they need to fit in the box snug as to avoid shifting and possible damage. The box should be thick with no tears.
