As I stand with my toes buried deep in the cream-colored sand, I gaze at the waves from the shore. They look fun and almost innocent as they crash over one another. I can taste the salt in the air and watch rainbows glisten through the prisms of the ocean’s spray. The warm ocean water toward the shore is covered with foam from the rumbling waves. Young children and their families play in the gritty, bronze sand. I think to myself how beautiful. I was also very pleased that the beach was not infested with tourists. The sunset was the most amazing part of the whole experience. The vivid pomegranate and violet streaks that seem to dance in the sky, floating down and resting on the water below, hidden behind the heavy mists. The sun shines its bright beams on anything it can see. A warm sensation was splashed onto my face from the beaming rays of the sun. A calmness flew by with the wind, and my heart seemed to stop for a split second. …show more content…

The ocean is a mysterious thing, with depths so deep you can not fathom what lies at the bottom. I step toward the water, dipping one toe in before I stumble through the almost crystal clear water. The water was not as warm as I had thought. A shiver runs up my spine, and I feel the hairs on my arms stand up. I tried to put my mind on something else. I began to look around, observe what's around me. There was also a long row of enormous rocks that extended far out into the sea. The waves would collide with them causing a flock of pestering seagulls to fly off the barnacle infested rocks. As I descend further into the sea I think about my younger self. How I spent most of my hot summer days, swimming and designing sand castles. My favorite part was late at night. You can almost reach out and touch the stars and the sound of the water splashing is so peaceful. The sky and the ocean almost seemed like one giant galaxy.
