Who does not want to be successful in life? Success is what everybody in this world strives to achieve, but not everybody can taste it because they do not know how. To be successful you must take some decisions, you must know what you want to accomplish and create a strategic plan as a guideline to get the ultimate results you want for your life. College is one of the tools you can use to be successful because it gives you the necessary skills to succeed and prepares you for a career. Been successful in College will show you what determination and commitment can do; it will give you the trust you need in yourself to get anything you want in life. Success means to take control over your career, to accomplish your goals, but before you can have it you need to make your plan.
College is an easy decision for students, but find the motivation to keep you going toward your goal is tough. As Marcia L. Conner said “Motivation is the force that draws you to move toward something. It can come from a desire or a curiosity within you or can come from an external force urging you on.” pp 7. Only motivation can help you finish what you are starting. Young students, sometimes enrolled in College because their families want to, or because they think is the logical step once you finished High School. For adult learners is different, sometimes they enrolled because they want to pursue a new career in order to be happy in their lives. In conclusion, plans are the blueprints for achieving goals. They are organized by sequence and priority and are the step by step list of what you will do. You can have motivations in life, you can have a diploma, you can have skills, but if you lack a plan you do not know what to do. Every successful person in the history of world had a plan. I also agree with my Mom that everyone has their own definition of success and that the media creates the ideal version of it. I decided that college was the best option for me because I couldn't see myself working a blue-collar job for the rest of my life and being able to say I felt successful and/or happy. College isn't for everyone but if you can’t see yourself working a blue-collar job and be able to say you're happy and successful then college might be your best option, no matter how
My purpose and goals in attending college is to make something of my life. It is a good thing. No one wants to be a nobody. But sometimes it takes time in order for one to realize this. & nbsp; Upon graduation from high school, I, like the majority of others high school graduates, had no clue what direction my life was heading or even what I wanted to become.
Motivation in college is different. For starters, as a student, I have to be self-motivated. My parents are not here to make sure I get my work done and go to class. I have to find motivation in myself to go to class and get my work done.
Sometimes students question themselves if college is really worth it? That question has many answers that only a student can answer and decide for him or herself. For some students college can have a positive, life-long outcome. However, there are many obstacles when it comes to college. A student has to be very dedicated in school, and they have to know how to manage their personal life, school and work. College seems like it has more negative effects than it does positive for some people. For the following reasons college is not worth the cost because it is very difficult to find jobs after graduating or they find a job that is not in their field, some students who are not academically prepared wind up dropping out of school and wasting their money and some students struggle to balance school life, personal life and work life. As a result these students end up dropping out of school.
Everyone has their own reasons for wanting a college education. Popular reasons for attending college include being able to obtain a better paying job, increase future earning potential, gain training for a specific career, and learning more about a specific topic of interest. Rampell, C. (2015) My reasons are more personal than either of the reasons listed. I do not wish to miss out on significant opportunities that have the potential to enrich my life and future. If there is anything in my life that I would regret it would be not pursuing my college education. As we get older life happens and the list of things we wish we could have done gets longer. Knowing that it is never too late to accomplish my goals is strong motivation to shorten the list of should haves. Obtaining a college education is important to me because I will have a strong sense of accomplishment for setting a goal that is important to me and seeing it through to the end. I also enjoy challenges and feel inspired by the endless possibilities for my future.
College isn’t like high school where you could just be happy all the time hoping that you’ll wing it to be successful or to barely pass your classes to graduate. What is success or how can I be successful? That’s the question I asked myself on the first day of college. Success in college is the main goal of college students, but finding it is another subject. Most students think that to be successful in college is to get good grades, which is true. But the question is how you will attain that. There are a lot of ways to accomplish your goals and come out on top.
Around half of students get jobs out of college (Wei). That is an frightful statistic that inclines people to conceive that attending a more competitive college is necessary to job attainment. Each American dreams of becoming a successful person, one who reaches their goals, maybe has a family, and a steady income. Some seem to regard that in order to reach that level of success they must attend an elite school, a school that is usually private, and only admits fewer than ten percent of applicants. The Ivy league receives much attention among the elite schools. “Only 0.4 percent of undergraduates attend one of the Ivy League schools... too much attention is paid to these eight institutions” (O'Shaughnessy).
Everyone wants to better themselves in life…right? No one wants to graduate high school and be stuck living with their parents or only make minimal wage. There are plenty of ways to have a better life, one in which is attending college. If a person attends college, they have a more likely chance of making more money, being more successful, and securing their future financially. Going to college not only leaves someone with better opportunities but it can instill in a person responsibilities, persistency and work ethic. All of these things are important unless a person is born into a rich family and are automatically given a job, the rest of civilization has to work and that is where college comes into play.
It is a competitive job market and if one wants a high paying job he needs some college credentials. College is also said to prepare people to take on the world. Once one has graduated and has a well paying job he is on his way to becoming successful. People work their whole lives making money so they can satisfy their desires. The idea of being able to purchase the items one has always dreamt about is an achievement. People dream about owning a home and having beautiful things to fill it with. Many people take pride in what they possess. People want to own nice homes, nice cars, and nice clothes. Some need to look successful in order to feel successful. These people feel successful when they can admire what their hard work has given them.
College is a very important and monumental moment in anyone 's life, that will catapult them to a future they want to pursue. College is a gateway to a big bright future in the career choice you choose to do for the rest of your life. Before anyone starts their last four years of their collegiate carrier, you will notice that in the process that some people will drop out or not finish because they lack of either focus, drive, and self discipline which affect their willpower. I have seen this in my own eyes, and experienced some of these myself but I will never give up.
There are several qualities to have to be successful in college. These qualities can range from attending class to going above and beyond what’s expected. A recent failure that has changed how I go about my daily life is one that many college freshman experience in their first year. In high school I was a very good student, but I did not have to put in a lot of effort to get the grades that I wanted. I would joke with my friends and say that high school taught me how to put in the least amount of effort, and still get the maximum result. All of my teachers told me, as they did every student, that college was going to be different and if you do not put in more effort it would be very difficult. I knew this coming into school, but I am not sure if part of me wanted to prove people wrong, or if I actually was just adjusting to college life. I did not study as much as I should of, and as a result my grades suffered. Luckily I did not completely ruin my grade point average, but since first semester I have completely changed my study habits. This has taught a much needed lesson about hard work, and I am determined to never again fail at my studies. I am the kind of person that learns a lot from failures. My dad has always told me it is ok to make a mistake, but never make the same mistake twice. This I a motto that I live by.
What defines a successful life? In other words, what are the measures of success and to what extend is college important to achieve success? Although most of mankind link a successful and a fulfilling life with money, success can be determined by other factors. These questions spark a controversial debate, creating factions in people’s minds. While one side of the debate is more vivid, people tend to deny it. Most people argue that in order to achieve a fulfilling life, the success must be structured on a basic foundation and element, that is education. College paves the way to students for a successful life not only on the workforce scale, but also on the personal, social, and economic level.
In setting a goal, you set up a grand goal and then you break it down into smaller goals. This helps you to further monitor your progress on a smaller scale and helps you stay motivated and focused because each time you achieve one of the smaller goals, it keeps you inspired to achieve the grand goal. Set goals that are definite with a well-known target to achieve, always giving yourself a specific time-stamped to achieve your goals. However, ensure that your goals and time lines set are realistic otherwise you will end frustrated chasing castles in the
