Boy in the Striped Pajamas

In the story the boy in the striped pajamas there were many characters but one of the main characters were Bruno , an eight year old boy who loved to play and explore. Bruno had a large mind and he didn't like boring or dull things. He like excitement and adventure. You could tell Bruno was also a very curious boy because he saw the concentration camps from his window and thought it was a farm. So he asked his parents about it and they would not give him any detail so he went on an adventure to find out what it really was. Bruno was a very interesting character too. He made you wonder what was going to happen next. Bruno wasn't a bad person , he was really just an innocent little boy from Berlin who got dragged into in death because of his fathers choices. He has a tense relationship with his family, especially since they moved. His parents are very strict, especially his father. For example , when “The Fury “ came to there house for dinner the kids had to go straight to bed. Bruno also does not really know a lot about his father’s job, except that he is a soldier.

Another main character from the story was Shmuel. Shmuel was also an eight year old boy. He was a little different from Bruno thought only because he was Jewish. Shmuel was a very sweet little boy on the other side of the fence in the concentration camp. He didn't deserve to be in that camp. He was also very nice to Bruno and they ended up being friends. Shmuel was also a sad little boy because he didn't have a life anymore. The SS officers didn't even think of him or any other Jews as a person , which is tragic. Shmuel is also a little more mature than Bruno. He has a big knowledge of this horrible situation. The outside world makes ...

... and how if you don't find something to do you'll be so bored.

“ Bruno:Why do you wear pajamas all day?

Shmuel: The soldiers. They took all our clothes away.

Bruno: My dad's a soldier, but not the sort that takes people's clothes away. ”

I chose this sentence from the story because its so sad that Bruno thinks Father is such a nice man and he really isn't because he is the one taking all their clothes away.

“In his heart, he knew that there was no reason to be impolite to someone, even if they did work for you. There was such a thing as manners after all.”

I chose this quote because you should not be rude to someone just because of their religion or race and Bruno knew that .

“I don't understand. One man caused all this trouble?”

I chose this quote because I feel the same way because its crazy how one man could really start all that trouble!
