The movie “Spotlight” directed by Tom McCarthy is a film about a true situation that had happened in 1976 involving a catholic priest molesting a child, even after the situation the assistance director attorney was telling the cops to not let the press receive any of that information. Eventually in 2001 the Boston Globe had hired a new editor Baron. Baron then reads a Globe column about a lawyer saying that the Cardinal Bernard Law had known that a priest named John was molesting children and nothing was done to stop him, which John tries to get the small group of journalist to research about the case. The four awards for acting are “Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture”, “Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Acting Ensemble”, “Satellite Award for Best Cast – Motion Picture”, and “New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actor”. My own personal reaction to the acting was great, I really felt the emotion from each victim when they were being interviewed by one of the journalist. As well as when September 11 had happened, it brought back on how I remember seeing my parents on how sad they were from the event. Even to this day we still have a scar from such a tragic event. Certain techniques that the movie “Spotlight” did to really leave the audience in shock, was the ending. During the end of the film they listed every city in the united states that there was a lot of situations where priest had molested children, but it went from one slide to another to eventually where it went to different countries all over the world with the cities within that country. The list was way longer then anyone would anticipate it to be. That is the reason the producers did what they did, they want you to think that it was only a couple cities but no, it continued to even out of the United States.
