The business will be located in Scarborough along the popular café strip located on Simmes Street, South Yarra. South Yarra is the ideal location for the business as the location attracts a high percentage of local and non-local customers, allowing for greater exposure.

The high rent cost should be covered by the larger expectance of revenue, due to higher average income in this area, compared to a less populous area or a higher rent area, such as Fremantle. Locating the business on the café strip in South Yarra will mean that there are limited parking bays, so our customers will face parking problems. To overcome this problem, the business can rent a small number of bays directly in front of the shop to ensure that customers can access the business easier.
The business should expect a high inventory turnover rate due to raw materials having a short expiry date. The business will use First In First Out (FIFO) method for sale and stock replenishment. Also an effective restocking and reordering procedure needs to be developed to maintain and supply the right amount of materials for daily operation. Quality control is very difficult to achieve as the cupcakes and coffee will be made differently each time. To ensure quality control, procedures will need to be established, ensuring the taste and decorations can remain as similar as possible.
The business idea is based on an increasing social trend, meaning that if the trend does not receive well with Perth’s population the business could suffer a loss. However because the business will also be a café, this will hopefully allow the business to avoid too much turmoil due to a trend
I feel I have achieved this as I have carried out market research along with studying secondary data that proves there is a gap to be exploited. However my market research could have been improved. If I were to carry out the market research again I would improve studying better secondary data, as the secondary data I have studied is not accurate and not relatable to my business. I would look at profit levels in the first 12 months for 5 coffee shops that have just started. I would take the mean profit level and make this my target. By being able to compare to other smaller business that have just started I can see if I am spending too much on materials and if I am I can manage spending to meet my budget. This will also give me more money to be spent in other areas of the business and also more time to look at the wants and needs of the customers and to my best to meet them
As making a decision is a critical behavior, Biz café was absolutely a practical learning experience because it provided me make decisions based on the significant factors of running a business. Moreover, what I have learned from my experience of doing biz café simulation can be divided into two parts such as identifying business essential factors and clarifying the importance of group effects. To begin with, I have become familiar with the significant aspects of managing and running a business although it was difficult to comprehend how to consider the aspects work together at the beginning of the simulation. For instance, vital factors to decide such as managing, marketing and accounting influenced me that I should spend money on acquiring my customers to increase sales and satisfactions as they directly make up a large part of the revenue and net income.
They must provide a quality product. The Ben Pearce book reminds us that all employees must be dedicated to delivering a quality product.
In this assignment I’m going to review mission statement of Maxie's Supper Club and Oyster Bar.
Without good customer service and keeping your promises, your company would have loyal customers. According to 5 Focusing Steps, “If you’re not yet sold on the idea, consider that a 2 percent increase in customer retention has the same effect as decreasing costs by 10 percent. Not only that, but it costs over six times more to get a new customer than it does to keep one.” Customer satisfaction should be a golden rule of all companies.
We recognize that our success as an enterprise depends on the talent, skills and expertise of our people and our ability to function as a tightly integrated team. We appreciate our diversity and believe that respect - for our colleagues, customers, partners, and all those with whom we interact - is an essential element of all positive and productive business relationships.
This allows the company itself to make any further changes to the product, and ensures that they have the best available menu options to cater to the customers as well as compete with their competitor, Jose’s Southwestern Cafe. This is a very important step in the process because if you do not offer menu items that customers enjoy, there is a good chance your business will fall to the
value for its customers by providing every day staple goods (grocery, pharmacy, etc) as well as more
-Customers: The company felt the importance of being customer-centric and innovate by adapting to customer
