Which Sins Must be Confessed Publically
There is a doctrine within the religious world, which teaches that sins that are known only by the individual, who committed them and God, must be confessed to other individuals, and this practice has invaded the Lord’s church in certain locations.
Of course, the Bible teaches that every known sin must be confessed to God, else God will not hear, nor can we expect forgiveness. (Psalms 66: 18; I John 1: 9) And James explained that some sins must be confessed publically: “Confess faults to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed [forgiven].” (James 5: 16) Therefore, forgiveness is not available to those who fall, without confession of sin.
John wrote, “If any man see his brother sinning a sin not unto death, he shall ask, and God will give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: not concerning this do I say that he should make request.
