Code hero helps to describe the traits and characteristics of heros. Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald use code hero on many different occasions in their novels, The Old Man and the Sea and The Great Gatsby. Code hero uses four main characteristics: endurance, loyalty, humility, and courage in order to explain the protagonists in The Old Man and the Sea and The Great Gatsby. Hemingway and Fitzgerald contribute to the use of code hero in both of their novels; henceforth, the protagonists in both of their novels have personalities that closely correspond with the descriptives of code hero.
