The Monster The Doppelganger
Frankenstein 's Fallen Angel is a story about how victor is a doppelganger of his creation, the monster. The monster is a representation of who Victor is, throughout the book you can see how Victor and the monster are similar and how the differences don’t seem that different the more you read. “Remember that I am thy creature; I ought to be thy Adam, but I am rather the fallen angel, whom thou drivest from joy for no misdeed.” These lines refer to the Biblical story of Adam and also Milton 's Paradise Lost.

The monster in Frankenstein just wanted to be loved and he had great and good aspirations in the beginning of the story. As the story went on he realized that the world was rejecting the physical form of his body which led to his evil doings. I think at first the reader felt sorry for the monster because he had no one that loved him but he saw what love truly was and got jealous and started going down an evil path with death and destruction. The monster seems to be similar to both Satan and Adam, he is made on earth and searches to find out who and what he is. Even though he did not become a fallen because of his physical nature and being rejected by society, it was because he thought that he didn 't have as much freedom as he thought he deserves and wanted to force that freedom on others. He thought that he should be praised and honored, but his mistake was thinking a noble cause is, in fact, oppressive in nature. Even though I wouldn’t give any sympathy for what they have done, if I had to choose who I would give more sympathy towards, it would be the monster because even though he did terrible things at the end he shows sorrow.
