In discussions of college athletes , one controversial issue has been whether college athletes should or shouldn't get paid. On the one hand, John Thelin argues that they shouldn’t get paid. On the other hand, Tiffany Patterson contends that they should. My own view is that they should, because the amount of money they make off them is crazy and at any moment there life could change for ever. Thelin argues that college athletes shouldn't get paid. One of his points is there scholarships would be replaced by a salary. Another one is that after taxes they would still be better off getting a scholarship. By focusing on their scholarships becoming a salary he misses the whole point of they could have both but not as much money as he’s saying. There are many reason why these players should get paid. Here’s a few reason’s why i think they should get paid. Each bowl has a sponsor and these sponsors claim a bowl game and they spent around 100 million dollars on these bowls games some of this money could be used to give to the players. Somes schools make over 100 million on just sports all sports. There were 1,053,370 injuries an 176.7 millions athletes were exposed to exposure. There was a poll taking an it said on average college athletes spend around 44.8 hours in a week on there sport this is not including the 40 hours on academics.
There are people who are going to disagree with what you have to say so it doesn't matter what the subject is state your claim with facts and leave it as is.
