In the early and late 20th century women fought for their rights to be able to vote. They held rallies and unions against discrimination with other women plus advocates won. Yet the fight for women isn’t over. These inequalities against women still exists and one of places is in the office. Over the years, research has been done and the results say that men are generally paid more than women despite doing the same job. Furthermore, there has been personal accounts of sexism toward experienced women in the workplace, even clients discriminate against females. Most companies have a major percentage of male workers than female workers. A glass ceiling is an unrecognized fence. In the working environment, women are under a glass ceiling, they not being taken seriously, the wage gap between men and women is significant, as well as the fact is that most top positions in companies are dominated by men and this is unjust.

There’s no objection to the fact that women don’t get paid as much as men despite having the same job. But why is this important? Patricia E. Cornish said at a Business and Professional Women’s club meeting in May 2007, “We know the enormous …show more content…

Despite this, other companies are not like this and still treat women unreasonably. As Liza Power wrote, “ She found that while some women had grappled with severe gender bias, others hadn't; there was a huge discrepancy between the cultures of different firms. Some were accommodating when women took maternity leave and needed flexible hours when they returned; others parked staff in career dead-ends and treated them like glorified students.”(Power 1) These companies , the ones who still treat women badly, still treat women differently and it’s unfair to the women who work hard. There should not be an uneven number of companies that treat women unfairly. All companies should treat women respectfully and
