Samuel Adams failed as a brewer and a Newspaper publisher. Samuel Adams also organized Boston’s Sons of Liberty. He helped coordinated Boston’s resistance to the Tea Act. Samuel Adams also represented Massachusetts in Continental Congress from 1774 to 1781. He was also elected to the Massachusetts convention on the ratification of the Constitution in 1787. After Serving John Hancock’s lieutenant from 1789 to 1793, Adams took over as governor. Samuel Adams went to Harvard College and graduate in the year of 1740. Samuel Adams found that his chief preoccupation, politics, was his true calling. An organizer of Boston’s Sons of Liberty he played a key role in 1765 until the war of independence in patriot opposition to what he believed was a plot to destroy the constitutional. He also conceived the Boston Committee of correspondence and took a leading role in its formation and operations from 1772 through 1774. Although his merchant father lack a gentleman education he had a knack for making money. Samuel adams also signed the Declaration of Independence. He married a women by the name of Elizabeth Checkley in 1749 unfortunately she died in 1757. A couple of years later Samuel Adams married Elizabeth Wells in 1764. It is a little strange two women both with the name Elizabeth I think. Samuel adams was was lieutenant governor and governor of Massachusetts. John Adams his second cousin was the second president of the United States. Samuel Adams took an active and influential part in local politics. Samuel Adams played an important part in instigating the Stamp Act. His influence was only second to James Otis, the lawyer and politician who gained prominence by his resistance to to the revenue
