Racism at Workplace in America America is one amongst many countries in the world that encounter a lot of racism. Racism refers to discrimination based on an individual’s race or color. Information obtained from the previous research explores that discrimination at workplaces has been rampant in America and hence there is a need to eradicate such a situation. However, despite many laws that have been put in place to eliminate racism, the problem is still encountered on a daily basis. The blacks and Latinos are highly discriminated based on their color. However, several forms clearly indicate the discrimination directly or indirectly (Moody 679). Americans job advertisement may include a qualification based on race, which implies that a none-white candidate will be automatically disqualified. In addition, an employer can only fire or discipline a non-American employee if they commit a small mistake at their job place. To add on, racism is revealed at job place if an employer fails to provide benefits or promotions to employees based on their race. However, racial discrimination is shown when there is improper classification or segregation of employees at workplace based on their skin color. Finally, an employer may choose to pay an employee less or pay nothing at all based on the employee’s race (Moody 679). Moreover, companies in America practice racism intentionally or unintentionally due to various reasons, which can be avoidable or non-avoidable. Firstly, judging employees based on their race is unfair since most non-Americans are still very competent at workplaces. Racism takes place at workplace since employers think that people of another race might not be qualified compared to the rest (Moody 781). Normally, individuals with the same academic qualification despite their difference in the race are as well qualified. However, racism is not encouraged since it is against the laws of America. Title VII, Civil Rights Act of 1964 clearly explains and addresses racism at workplaces (Barrett 25). The law prohibits employers from totally discriminating or segregating employees as well as job applicants based on their race (Moody 781). Finally, human beings should not be discriminated at job place based on their race since God created all human beings in His image. Thus, employers should treat all employees or job applicants equally despite their difference in races. The strength of the argument against racism in America is that all the human beings are equal and therefore they should not be discriminated against their race. Based on academic qualification, skills, as well as experience, individuals have the same ability to tackle issues at workplaces despite their races (Muennig and Murphy 187).
