The Proof of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ
The founders of the greatest religions of the present day not only differed in what they taught or where they were born, but out of all of them Jesus of Nazareth stands out as the only one who has an empty tomb. The resurrection of Jesus not only is what differentiates Christianity from the rest, but what gives our preaching and our faith meaning for without it what we consider truth is purposeless and our savior is incompetent. Our whole cause falls apart if we do not believe it, know it, proclaim it, and defend it as an incontrovertible fact. Jesus promised his resurrection before he was even dead when he said, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up” (John 2:19). The fact that it was not an event that happened on the spot but was rather planned and that if one would doubt the promise of the resurrection one would also have to doubt the other promises of Jesus like his death on the cross, institutes that the resurrection is reasonable. Likewise, the resurrection was included in the earliest creed of the church as 1 Corinthians 15:4b said “...that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.” As part of the earliest creed established shortly after, the resurrection is an incorruptible truth that could not have formed into a legend and a wide accepted fact by the church in all of the places that it …show more content…

The idea that the resurrection was a conspiracy led by the proclamation of the 12 disciples and the apostles is inconceivable when considering that they spent three years helping the needy and with their “false” proclamation they would have sent many to hell. The character of the disciples is one of truth and of helping, not of conspiracies and of damaging, and therefore they would not have proclaimed the resurrection unless it was true and it would help people recognize their true savior. Moreover, a drastic change in a strict culture with rigid laws from having the day of worship being on a Sabbath as it had been for many centuries, which we know the disciples followed, to being on a Sunday could only be possible because of the resurrection of Jesus. The event of the resurrection is the only incident that happened on a Sunday drastic enough that could have change the day of worship established by the law to the day when our true savior and lord conquered
