Primary Research is when original research is performed by collecting data directly, typically from research subjects (Abrams 2012). Primary research is very helpful when collecting information from important customers for a product or a service they used. It is very helpful when you no other information is obtainable. The researcher starts off by designing questionnaires, collecting responses from respondents and then interpreting it depending on requirements. Going in this direction can be very costly. Some of the advantages of primary research is targeted issues are addressed, interpretation of data is better, the information is more recent, and proprietary issues meaning he is the owner of the data collected. Some of the disadvantages of primary data is the cost, it can be very time consuming, the feedback can be incorrect, and more number of resources are required (Sparrow 2018).
