Photosynthesis is a very important process. It is used by plants and other autotrophic organisms to make their own food. The reactants of the process are carbon dioxide, water, and sun light. The product is glucose and the byproduct is oxygen. The oxygen made is the oxygen that humans and other organisms need to survive. The formula for photosynthesis is: 6 CO2 + 6 H2O + Sunlight + C6H12O6 + 6 O2. Without photosynthesis there would be no food chain or life on earth other than the autotrophic organisms. Plants use the glucose as food, energy for them to survive, and herbivores and omnivores use plants as food, energy for them to survive. Plants are the bases for all food chains, and without them there is nothing else. Plants make their own …show more content…

Without the energy provided by photosynthesis daily activities would not be possible. Energy is required for basic activities such as blinking, talking, and writing. None of these could happen without the energy given indirectly from photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is a basic process that allows life to be possible. It happens daily without us even knowing. It is something that is so simple that is so vital. No one would expect something as little as plants could provide us with energy and oxygen that we need to survive. Photosynthesis also allows for the process of cellular respiration which is also an important process. Cellular respiration is the process that animals go through to create ATP (adenosine triphosphate). ATP is the source of chemical energy that cells use in order to perform its functions. The reactants are glucose and oxygen and the reactants are carbon dioxide, water, and ATP energy. The carbon dioxide made is the carbon dioxide needed for autotrophic organisms need to go through the process of photosynthesis. The formula for cellular respiration is C6H12O6 + 6 O2 = 6 CO2 + 6 H2O + ATP
