Kevin Wieser- Philosophy of Leadership- Fundamentals of Leadership- August 28, 2013
At the beginning of this quarter we were informed that we would be required to define and describe our philosophy of leadership by the end of August. I thought to myself- that there are two types of leaders which include the good ones and the bad ones. As today is the last day of class in Foundations of Leadership- I am proud to say that my view has most definitely changed and there are definitely many different types of leaders that originally thought. Throughout this short presentation I would like to define my beliefs and thoughts regarding leadership and describe my learnings and benefits from taking this course by describing my philosophy.
I found an excellent leadership paradigm online that shows how to evaluate and define my Philosophy of Leadership and it is found by exploring and reflecting upon personal values, assumptions, and beliefs regarding leadership.
The first topic to evaluate is to identify my leadership values. The paradigm asks to choose five core values that I would consider extremely important in leadership.

1. Collaboration

Collaboration is defined as the act of working together with one or more people in order to achieve something. It is extremely important for a leader to collaborate well within Project Teams/co-workers. To achieve a common goal is the reason to why we work as my goal is to elevate environmental, safety, and regulatory product compliance and harmonization through advanced process and project management leadership. My Leadership Philosophy is…
• I believe that leadership includes partnering with others to responsibly, kindly, fairly, and successfully complete a goal.
• I enlist team members and treat them with respect and recognize their jobs well done.
• I support my team members in times of struggling and defeat by motivating them and helping them determine their next steps on their path to success.
• I value and enforce integrity in the professional workplace.
• I support the team leadership and servant leadership model since I believe it is important to work together as a team to work toward that common goal while helping the newer employees and co-workers grow and succeed.
• I believe one must be ethical in order to be a successful and impactful leader in today’s society.
