Summer has come to an end and school back in full swing. One is ready to crush the challenges facing a 5th grader. The last bell for recess sounds. Young boys race outside to enjoy the sun’s warmth. Name calling and horse-playing around immediately begins as they plan their weekend fun. Challenging each other to execute silly acts or daring one another to flirt with the girls across the playground. One yells out if you don’t jump from the top you are a sissy. Then one hears ask Julie out first. Recess is almost over when another one yells out he won’t…he’s a gay sissy. Silence has now blanketed the playground and one could hear a pin drop. Past and present member’s integrity is also in question. Steadfast and unite together as citizens and boycott the Boy Scouts. Failing to do otherwise shows ones weakness while endorsing the acceptance of gays into the Boy Scouts. By all means, do not be fooled and become the Boy Scout’s next puppet on a string. Citizens must be held accountable as well. Every citizen has a stake in all social groups that receive monetary funds or tax benefits from city, state, or the federal government. Though the Boy Scouts are a private organization and do not receive financial funding. They do receive tax benefits on specific items by not paying sales tax. Also, any organization’s actions requiring state and federal intervention makes citizens involved. State and federal workers are paid by American taxpayers, so one has a responsibility. Are the Boy Scouts truly being responsible? No! They have been part of this country for over 100 years and developed a creed that supports the Declaration of Independence. They represent Americans and the very law written over 200 years ago that continues to make this country awesome. Even more they are empowered to teach values, responsibilities, and instill unmistakable morals into a young boy’s life. The Boy Scouts organization has molded great leaders of this country. Boy Scouts are ambassadors. Allowing gays into their organization proves failure. Furthermore, they are a victim of their own. This gay ban change brings additional shame and scrutiny to the organization. Top Leaders are using this gay ban to dim the spotlight of the Troop Leaders. Moreover, Troop Leaders and the organization need to be responsible and accept blame for their lack of judgment. Without a doubt failing to accept blame will end the existence of this dysfunctional organization
