Lately, humans have been acting very harmful, but our actions should not negatively affect other creatures. And so, we should be able to help protect those creatures. Zoos, for example, are helpful and important, so animals should remain in zoos, provided that animals are treated fairly. I support this, considering the many perks that come to their life in zoos.
Animals can be safe from threats, such as predators and poachers, while they’re in the zoo. Out in the wild, they can get hurt, and in most cases, the animal can pass away. In the zoo, there is no danger of dying or dying out, with most of the threats having been eliminated. Food will also be provided to the animal, so there is no danger of starvation. Some zoos even give animals live food, to keep their natural instincts intact. However, some animals prefer raw meat rather than live meat, such as Amur and

While there have been some species where this breeding program does not work, such as the giant panda, this breeding program works on most animal species. In many occasions in the past, these programs have worked. Such as the Californian Condor, a bird species that had previously been close to extinction. By using the breeding programs, the Californian Condors flourished. (Should Animals Be Put In Zoos?) Zoos can educate the public in many ways. The animals there can teach people how to care for animals, how to feed them, and how you should act towards those animals. Zoos can also teach people about animals and their habitats, how they act, what they eat, and what you should do when they are in need of help. The animals there can also inspire young children and adults to care for animals, and possibly consider a job with helping animals, such as a veterinarian. (Two Views Of The Zoo) Overall, zoos, I believe are beneficial, considering they: help protect animals, often
Peoples Trust has provided me with an extreme amount of information on why zoos are beneficial through their “Zoos & Conservation article.” Peoples Trust has pointed out that not every zoo mistreats their animals, but never took into consideration how the animals themselves may undergo, and what is being taken away from them.
Have you ever seen an animal sitting in a cage all alone with nothing to do. Well, zoos are trying to change that fact. They will allow the animals to live in an environment that is like their home. Many people don't realize this, but zoo are keeping and breeding these animals because they would not survive in the wild alone. In the three passages, ¨The Stripes Will Survive,¨ ¨The Zood Go Wild from No More Dodos,¨ ¨Our Beautiful Macaws and Why They Need Enrichment.¨ All of these articles present one claim, that is that the role of zoos is no longer to keep animal, but to protect them.
In the article, Orens writes, “The San Diego Zoo offers tours, camps, art and photography courses.” This means that the San Diego Zoo offers many different educational courses. This means that the courses this zoo offers many programs for kids and adult to take which any other places don’t provide. This proves at zoos are useful for educational purposes for students. This matters because zoos offer many different programs for anybody to learn.
There are many places where people can go to see live animals such as aquariums, zoos, and safari parks. A pleasant way to define a Zoo is to call it “an establishment that maintains a collection of wild animals”. (Google def) Another way to say that is a facility in which animals are “enclosed in cages for public exhibition”. I believe zoos are ethical; however, changes need to be made to eliminate problems I have discovered. In this argumentative essay, I will be arguing the ethics of zoos and certain problems that need to be addressed that people are not aware of. Zoos are great places to take the family out for the day to have entertainment; however, problems such as captive breeding, length of life, and animal stress need to improve.
Zoos are perhaps one of the most popular forms of museum on the planet. Some of these vast, sprawling landscapes are filled with species from every continent on the planet, representing a vast portion of life found on the earth. A child from Iowa can get the opportunity to see a polar bear, a zebra, and rare species of birds, insects, and countless other animals all in the course of a day. Zoos truly provide a unique and profound experience for those with an open and curious mind. But, the nature of a zoo is not purely entertainment. These collections of creatures big and small also serve the purpose of education, conservation, and research. These reasons are enumerated well in the mission statement of the St. Louis Zoo as “To conserve animals
The fact that animals will have someone taking care of them, feeding, bathing, and showing love and affection to them is truly amazing and is one of the best advantages of being a zookeeper. Another great advantage of being a zookeeper is that taking care of the animals is decreasing the chance of injury or disease, and freeing them from fear and distress. One ...
One of the several ways, and probably most effective ways to prove that zoos are helping our society is that they teach children about animals. Opponents against zoos, state, “There is no compelling evidence that zoos…promote attitude changes, education, or interest in conservation in their visitors.” (Do zoos and aquariums really educate public?). Most zoos require zookeepers to have a bachelor’s degree in biology, zoology or animal science, which is how zookeepers...
Animals are getting closer to being extinct all because of humans. People are cutting down trees, making new buildings and roads and it is all killing both the animals and their homes. Some people think that keeping animals in a zoo is cruel but they should be in a zoo because humans are destroying the animals homes, zoos can help animals not go extinct, and animals will live longer in a zoo than in the wild.
Animals such as tigers and giraffes are getting taken away from their home and family. Most are dying because they are too young to live on their own and still need their mom or it is because they are unhealthy and zoos are doing nothing to help take care of these animal that they captured. Animals living in zoos show children that animals can be manipulated just so that we can fulfil our own curiosity about them. Zoos do not save animals from extinction. “Instead, they divert much need attention away from important conservation work in the wild.”
Zoos provide an invaluable service and therefore should not be closed. Animals are able to reproduce easier. They are able to eat more. Kids of all ages enjoy seeing and learning about endangered species.
For example elephant in the wild they live for about 40-50 years but in the zoo, they only live for 20-30 years that’s 10 years taken away from their life. That’s precious time! That’s why zoo’s don’t help the extinction of animals actually helping the extinction of the poor animals. So if we didn’t zoo’s the animals would be at a constant rate right now. I blame it all on the zoo. Have you ever wondered if there were no zoo’s you would probably think that there would be no more animals but there would be a lot more than how many there are right now? It’s like the worms everyone this there good for trees but the could easily wipe out all the wildflowers and maple trees. See just like the zoo’s everyone thinks they’re good but they could easily wipe out all the animals. There’s another reason why you shouldn’t support
Would you like it if your species were to go extinct? This is what will happen to animals if they are not protected from other predators in the wild. All animals need to be placed into zoos because it reduces the chance of extinction. The animals will be properly taken care of and the zookeepers can train the animals to not have the innate killing instinct they were born with. Although some animals may be too vicious to be placed in protection, it still reduces extinction from all kinds of animals on the food chain. All animals should be protected because it keeps them away from human pollution and hunting, reduces extinction, and it puts less pressure on animals to produce offspring. Humans are one of the main reasons that animals go extinct, because people destroy their homes and hunt for animals. Protection reduces extinction because they aren’t in the wild defending themselves from their predators. When a species is endangered, they are forced to mate, so that the species can live on, and it puts a lot of pressure on the animals to do so.
Do you remember your first visit to a zoo or aquarium? Do you remember how young you were? Do you remember how fascinated you were to see some of the world’s most beautiful animals? Zoos and aquariums play a vital role in our society. They allow children to see wild animals, that they otherwise would have to travel across the world to see, up close. They also get to learn about the animals and their natural habitats. They allow people to see, touch, and experience these animals first hand in a humane environment. If people were not able to see animals this way, they would not care to protect them or their natural habitats. Zoos also help contribute to conservation. Many zoos across the world participate in programs that help control the populations
Many humans have desire and fascination with wild animals. Every year, millions of people gather together to go on cruises safari trips, or simply take a drive down the street to the local zoo to fulfill their day with animal gazing. Peoples interest in animals is nothing new. Zoos have been around and attracting people with many exotic animals since 1250 B.C. In the 13th- century England for a small free Henry III moved the family’s menagerie for viewing along with lions, camels, and lynxes. However brought a dog or cat to feed to these animals were allowed to view for free. The first modern zoo comes about in the Imperial Menagerie in Vienna Austria. Established in 1752 this zoo continues to bring in visitors from all over the world. Germany on the other hand holds the world largest animal collection at the Zoo Berlin formerly known as The Berlin Zoological Gardens which hold more than 15,000 different animals coming from almost 1,700 species. Many people visit zoos all around the world proving that we never grow tired of observing animals. Depending on your view on the topic zoos can be seen as a classroom for learning about animals or a death trap for animals. It’s hard to differentiate between what’s good if it’s a good thing or not. Maybe we should start out with the good things.
Zoos are an unsuitable environment for wild animals and should, therefore, be abolished. Firstly, zoo animals are kept in a very confined area compared with their vast natural habitat. Secondly, breeding programmes are far less successful than zoos claim. Thirdly, zoo animals are exposed to many diseases and other dangers.
