The first cry, the first touch, seeing it’s little fingers reach out and hold on to a mother’s hand; this baby will become the person who cured cancer. But wait. It never even had a chance to breathe. Mothers say that they were not ready to bring a beautiful life into the world but the baby never had a say in the mother’s decision to takes it life. Abortion affects not only the baby, but the mom, the father, and everyone that knows about the wonderful miracle of life. Abortion, though legal in the United States, should be made illegal because it is morally wrong and murder.
People going through abortion do not know how they will feel after they lose their baby. They may have mix emotions, thinking that it is the right thing to do but still

In an article that is about how science backs the Pro-life movement, a scientist by the name of Ashley McGuire said, “‘The pro-life message has been, for the last 40-something years, that the fetus … is a life, and it is a human life worthy of all the rights the rest of us have’”(Green), and goes on to explain how science is advancing. Ashley tells her story about the different timeline between her first child and her last. Science agrees that the fetus is a life and should be upholded to the rights of a full grown human. Science is now finding more discoveries on why abortion is wrong.
Science has discovered a link between breast cancer and abortion. When getting an abortion not only is the baby getting hurt, but the mother could be hurting herself. In a research done by the American Cancer Society it states, ”Some case-control studies, however, have found an increase in risk” (Abortion and Cancer Risk). Women are risking getting cancer because they do not want to bring in a wonderful thing into the world. Breast cancer is the second major cancer in women. Abortion is making the risk higher for breast cancer. But abortion is not physically wrong but morally
Abortion has been one of the biggest controversies of all time. According to the Oxford dictionary, the term abortion can be defined as, the deliberate termination of human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. There are two different types of abortion; a spontaneous abortion, which is also known as a miscarriage, and an induced abortion, where the embryo or fetus is purposely removed from the women’s body. The topic of induced abortion has been widely debated for hundreds of years. The issue of abortion was argued way back in the time of the ancient Hebrews. Today many people consider abortion to be murder, but shouldn’t the soon-to-be mother 's right to make such a personal and heartbreaking choice be
In America abortion is one of the most heavily debated topics in recent years. Pro-life or pro-choice? Many people believe it is immoral and even consider abortion to be murder. The definition of abortion states “The termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo prior to being capable of normal growth” Did you know that 1 in 3 women in the U.S. will have an abortion in their lifetime? (Baker, Aspen. "A Better Way to Talk about Abortion." Aspen Baker:. N.p., n.d. Web. 25 Aug. 2016.) When first researching this topic I wondered, “What’s the big deal? Why would it matter if someone who was never even born, died?” And I realized that babies that would have been born due to abortion,
What is life? No one seems able to agree, and there is no side in between. Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, as well as one of the most seemingly unsolvable controversies. Pro-life advocates claim that abortion equates to full-on murder, while pro-choice advocates claim that women have the right to make decisions about their own bodies. With the right to an abortion under attack more and more, even clinics finding themselves under actual gunfire, abortion becomes a bigger debate topic than ever. A woman is a person more than the fetus inside of her, and she deserves to make whatever choice she wishes about her own body. Women should have safe, easy access to abortion in all cases.
How would you feel if someone took away your ability to live? How would you feel if you were never given the chance to come into the world and contribute to the human race? These are some of the questions an individual needs to ask when considering having abortion. Abortion, in my opinion, is immoral and unjust simply because it is murder. A brutal murder of a being who has not even seen the world and a huge injustice to a helpless fetus who might have been the next Einstein, President, or the person who would find a cure to cancer. Morality says that every person has the right not to be unjustly killed. Hence, this right also apply to any unborn child. The thought of an individual killing his/her own unborn child is always lurking in the back of my mind because it’s hard to assert the harm being caused by the unborn child to the mother or to the society in general. If we say abortion is morally right, then we are against procreation and procreation is one of the major contributions of a human being to his or her society and the world at large. The act of procreation is one of the most beautiful things in the world. To make a human being, being able to watch that kid grow into an adult and actually be responsible to the society, should be a very fulfilling experience for any mother. I hereby oppose the principle of paternalism because I don’t believe it is moral to take away or destroy the life of an unborn child to save the life of the mother because there is no harm caused by the unborn child but I support the harm principle because abortion in general, causes harm to the unborn child, his future, the mother and the society. Therefore, I subscribe to Don Marquis view on Abortion in his article “Why abortion is immoral”.
Giving birth is often looked upon as a miracle of life with remarkable experiences to come. However, others may think this miracle of life will be nothing but problems in their lives. Many females who are not ready for a baby seek abortion as the answer of their problems. Abortion is known to be one of the most debated issues in society. It is best defined as a “medical procedure used to end a pregnancy and cause the death of the fetus” (“Merriam-Webster 's Learner 's Dictionary”). Regardless, if a woman becomes unexpectedly pregnant and is not mentally or financially stable to take care of a baby, abortion is still not the answer. The procedures for abortion is unhealthy for the female, is murder of the fetus, and goes against the 14th Amendment.
Abortion is a voluminous topic today all around the world. Differing viewpoints on abortion are recognized in politics, religion, and throughout the general population. There is a small amount of people who are nonchalant on the subject. Women have abortions for many different reasons and according to certain groups these reasons are either justified or not. Everyone tends to have their own articulated opinion, and many vocalize tenaciously what they believe. Pro-life individuals along with religion are sanguine that abortion is ethically and morally erroneous. Whereas those who are pro-choice say that abortion is inconsequential and the mother’s choice is more important than the fetus. Reasons to not get an abortion include risks involved in receiving an abortion. In some cases death can occur. However, there are other alternatives to abortion. For example, raising the child and adoption.
Today, abortion has become one of the greatest controversies throughout the world. The debate on whether or not abortion should become a legal option continues to dismember not only Americans, but citizens of other countries. There are people who believe abortion is a women’s civil right, and those who consider it as an immoral act. There are those who believe personhood begins at birth, and those who believe personhood begins from the moment of conception. Many contradictory statements lead to the separation of two groups: pro-choice and pro-life. While a pro-choice supports a women’s “right to privacy”, pro-life supporters are against such an action considering it murder, but why force a female to go through such a dramatic change because of a pregnancy?
The decision to abort a pregnancy improves the lives of women across the world everyday. Abortion should remain an option because many deaths are caused by unsafe abortions, individual morality should not govern society as a whole, and no scientific evidence has been presented to confirm that human life begins at conception. Moralists promote the belief that legal abortions are dangerous and that human life begins at conception, however both of these claims have been refuted. When performed legally, abortions are one of the safest surgical procedures. Women should continue to possess the right to terminate their pregnancy for any reason.
Every time a baby is conceived it is another miracle God has given to us. But lately the miracles God has given to us, have been destroyed. Since 1973, when abortion was legalized in the United States, more than 57 million babies have been destroyed violently in some way. These pre-born babies have been denied their most basic right of all, the right to life. By being denied their right to life, the Declaration of Independence calls this an unalienable right. In the United States alone there is about 2.3 abortions taking place every minute of the day. Just think that is 137 abortions per hour and 2,900 abortions in one single day ("Abortion Statistics”). Abortion should be illegal across the world because it is the taking of innocent lives
Abortion was legally being done since 1880 in the United States. During that time, many states have started to ban abortion. Even though abortion was illegal in many places, it was still being practiced. Many by licensed physicians. They “risked losing their license to perform the abortions”. Even though abortion was illegal in most states, women all over the United States were getting abortion illegally. Some even performed self-abortions with “hanger and needles”. “Also many women would go to other countries and get an abortion”. Many felt the banning abortions was a way to limit women’s rights which led to many court cases. (ourbodiesourselves.org)
In 1973, the United States Supreme Court ruled that under the 14th Amendment, abortion is a woman’s decision. The ruling, in the case of “Roe vs. Wade”, further states a woman has a right to an abortion until “viability” which is defined as being able to live outside of the mother’s womb. Viability usually occurs around 28 weeks or 7 months. This means that a woman can abort a baby just two months before it is born. I strongly disagree with this ruling because this is killing innocent babies. Furthermore, many medical doctors confirm the fetus can feel pain as early as 18 weeks. Dr. Emidio Novembre spoke before the U.S. House Public Health, Welfare and Labor Committee. According to Dr. Novembre, “The fetus can perceive the pain, feel the pain and tries to avoid the pain. The fetus is a person and the person wants to live” (Reinhard). The fetus pain debate goes back at least as far as 1984, when President Ronald Reagan said, “Medical-science doctors confirm that when the lives of the unborn are snuffed out, they often feel pain, pain that is long and agonizing” (Yarrow). This evidence proves the fetus is a person and the attempts to kil...
Abortion has been a controversial topic in the U.S ever since it became legal in 1973 after the Roe v. Wade case. Abortion is defined as the, “the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy.” Pro-life supporters believe that abortion is unethical and argue that it is the mother’s responsibility to own up to her actions. They also argue that there is always the option of adoption, and that abortion could be very dangerous. I am pro-life and believe that the government doesn’t have the right to decide what a woman can or can’t do with her body.
Abortion is not just a moral or religious issue. It has an impact in medical field as well. It’s the cause for a disease to which name that bring the depression to each and every women on Earth- breast cancer is what it’s called. According to many professors and doctors, “abortion increases the likelihood that women will develop breast cancer.” For justification, let me tell you an interesting fact for the statement above. “At the early stage of pregnancy, breast grows in order to meet the needs for breastfeeding for the baby later on. But when the pregnancy is interrupted, the immature cells in women’s breast will increase the chances of having breast cancer” (“Russo”). Through this fact, we can understand that abortion is certainly the interruption of pregnancy. By this, the mother will most likely end up with breast cancer. If she doesn’t care about her child’s life, she might care about her own life, right? And is the reason of...
Women should have the right to decide whether or not they would like to have an abortion. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines abortion as; “the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus.” The idea of a woman’s right to have an abortion being taken away is merely incomprehensible.
Abortion has been one of the most talked about topics in society just about anywhere from television, magazines, whether or not it should be the right or wrong thing to do. Abortion is a very sensitive issue to discuss, because of its nature. Many people have said that abortion is a very bad thing to do and it should not even be choice whether or not to abort a living fetus. People think that abortion is committing murder as it is killing the human fetus. However, others feel that a woman should have a voice and have the right to choose to keep the child or not and that it is not murder until the baby is born. Majority of individuals who believe that abortion is bad say that the fetus is human who is partly being formed and to have an abortion is considered to be murder. For the people who think an abortion is ok, say that it’s not considered murder unless the child is born. I believe that abortion should be seen in which the stage the fetus is in. if the fetus is in an early stage of pregnancy it is not considered murder, but if the fetus has already began to develop into a larger fetus then it is indeed considered to be murder. There are times when abortion can be accepted, if the mother is having complications due to pregnancy. For example if the mother is enduring complications in her pregnancy that can harm her, because of the child in that case it is ok to perform an abortion to help save the mother’s life. It is also very important to understand this type of situation. The mother has the right to have an abortion and it is her decision because a mother knows best about her health conditions.
