There are many different types of drones, with them comes various names that show exactly what the drones priority is. Assault drones, spy drones, UAV’s etc. The reason drones are becoming much more popular and used now is due to its cheap pricing of fuel, its efficiency in its ability to complete a set task. But using drones to deliver mail may be another story. The issue between these new ideas by the Australia Post is a simple low key fact that people are afraid of the drones because of its usage in the past, its reliability and as an unmanned machine in general. So drones deliver much faster than olden day mail delivery, granted. But what good is a drone if people don’t want them? As research shows, only 10% of Australians actually want their mail delivered by drones. Sure 10% of 21 million may sound like a lot, but it’s certain it wouldn’t cover the cost of making the drones and certainly would not make any profit for the company. When the company is bankrupt and can’t afford to make any more drones, this will just end disastrously not only for the company but for those who’ve already paid or subscribed to having their mail delivered by drones. If you can make it, you can break it. What I’m saying is that, as technology grows, hackers will grow with them. It would actually take less time for them to hijack the drones than to make it in the first place, because all the information is now available and once found, there goes the drones in the wrong hands. There would be new ways of stealing items and goods and more importantly, private information. This is what people know and understand, which is most likely why only 10% want drones, and those 10% are probably the hijackers
