Informative Essay On Drones

Who here would like to go to war? Who wants a cheap and effective, strategic war? If you want that, then drones are the weapons to use. They’re cheap and effective, reduce unnecessary deaths, and are much more accurate than any other weapon. These are only a few reasons for why drones are the ultimate weapon of choice.
Drones are cheaper and more effective than putting boots on the ground. According to Brooking.edu, “Over 50 senior leaders of al Qaeda and the Taliban who are not easily replaced…” have been killed by drone strikes. Another 3,250 al Qaeda, Taliban, and Jihadist operatives have also been killed by drone strikes. They are also worthy to be used for the reason that they are cheaper than manned aircraft attacks and U.S. military attacks. U.S. manned aircraft attacks cost $16,900 per hour to operate while drones cost about $3,679 per hour to operate. You might think that's a lot of money, but it cost $2.1 million per year for each soldier deployed in Afghanistan.
U.S. soldiers will be much safer with the use of drones . ProCon.org says U.S. soldiers are kept safe from, “...fire fights, anti-aircraft shelling, land mines, I.E.D’s, suicide bombers, snipers, harsh weather and enviroments…” if we use drones. That would mean that there are less U.S. soldiers guarding U.S./Allied territory. Drones will guard and attack anybody that illegally
According to ProCon.org, “...it is estimated that 174-1,047 civilians have been killed in Pakistan, Yemen, and Somalia since the U.S. began conducting drone strikes abroad following the Sep. 11, 2001 attacks.” Now you may think that's a lot, but that only comes out to be about 13-75 civilian casualties per year from 2001-2015. They are so accurate, that a drone could strike a house surrounded by crowded houses and the houses remain untouched. Which means less civilian casualties and less U.S. soldiers accidentally being killed by drone
