Persuasive Essay On Bullying

Bullying against teens is still happening even though there are various awareness programs to try to prevent it. I want to create awareness of bullying against teens of all religions, race, and sexual orientation. Even with the various attention to bullying, the problem still persists despite the school providing awareness, students are still afraid to say anything. Societal patterns today make bullying a difficult issue to eliminate. Starting in 2007, a total of 35 states made laws to go against bullying at school. These laws consisted of a clear definition of bullying, and how schools will be required to enforce uniform standards of conduct. The reason bullying comes as such an issue to me is because I actually know friends that have been suicidal and have caused themselves harm due to being bullied every day, in school and at home.
Bullying can be seen as either pure discrimination against teens, or as a plea against the rough life at home. Some people decide to not say anything because they just feel like it is a waste of time. “I was bullied because of my race, I am Asian, and they used to make me fun of me in class, and the teacher didn’t even say anything and laughed along with the class” (Tiffany). Whereas on the on the other side, you have teenagers who bully to get the stress out from being abused at home. No matter the reason, bullying is not okay, and that is what I am trying to get across.
Throughout the years, bullying has become a significant reason for teenagers to become depressed or even suicidal. It does not matter what the teen is being discriminated against, whether it be their race, what they believe in, or who they love. ...uicidal thoughts in emotional teenagers. Some people see it as no big deal, while others, like myself find it extremely unacceptable. Some believe that we need to try to stop it as soon as possible, and it’s not a secret that some teenagers have cut themselves and tried to kill themselves because of how much they were being bullied. It is not a balance of the universe; it is pure prey and victim. Bullying is never okay and that is what needs to be emphasized.
