HOW TO BECOME AN AİRLİNE PİLOT? Being an airline pilot can batch most glamorous and the most exciting thing in the world for somebody who are in love with aviation. Every year millions of people apply flight schools to become a pilot, but most of them do not have any idea about flight training and what kind of abilities that they should have to become a professional pilot. When you choose a career for you and decide to do this in your whole life, some risks have to be taken. For some positions when you work for an airline, it can take up to 10 years of flying experience to even qualify. Now, you have already taken your private pilot license (PPL), so you should begin working on your instrument rating and commercial certificate. If you do not complete a minimum number of hours of flight experience, you could not qualify to obtain a pilot licance. To have commercial pilot license you must complete 250 hour flight time and for an airline transport certificate 1500 hours of flight time experienced are required and then depending on the type of the aircraft, new airlines pilots starts as first officers or flight engineers. So to become a professional pilot, you should know what kind of abilities you must have and what kind of knowledges you have to know. A pilot should have an idea on whole topics about aviation, airplanes and machines. Firstly, every pilot should know basic physics to understand theory of flight and the most important thing is applying physics knowledge in your flight. Second one is understanding meteorology. Rules of aviation based on meteorology. A pilot without the knowledge of meteorology has higher risks of accident and this could endanger the lives of the passenger and the whole cabin crew. Third one is understanding aircraft systems. All machines including plane work with the principles of physics. A pilot understand how the machine works and if the pilot notice an error, should be able to tell mechanics and be able to warn them. The other important thing is understanding navigation. A pilot should know how s/he should use the map, so should be able to give right decisions about direction that s/he should follow and could land in difficult weather conditions bu using only the map. The last important thing is having some knowledges about regulations and air traffic controls. A pilot must be familiar with air traffic control and flight planning departments. So try to know and understand all the regulations that can affect his/her flight. Otherwise there is not any way to tell
