Photography has become popular throughout the world in the past few years due to advances in technology, social media and access to cameras. Photographers have traveled throughout the world to capture inspiring works of art. Photography can be found in many different fields for example science, journalism, fashion, historical, political science, and many more. I believe a career in photography could open many doors and create paths to exciting adventures and allow a person to be original in their creativity. A career in Photography includes the tasks of a business owner. This includes, but is not limited to, promoting the business, purchasing supplies, hiring and supervising employees and taking care of financial matters within the business. …show more content…

If you choose to have a business the work load could be as heavy or as light as you choose. If you are working for a company it could be part time or full time work. If you are working for a magazine as a freelance photographer it could be seasonal. There are many different variables of work schedules with this career. The only health hazard I found in this career is if you chose to be a photojournalist and had to travel to other countries. Some photojournalists have been killed in action. Photographers who work with National Geographic have to get very close to wildlife which could be hazardous. Weather related issues could pose a threat to a photographer capturing weather phenomena. It would really depend on the type of photographer you decide to be. A career in photography would be very satisfying for someone interested in being their own boss. If you had an adventurous spirit you could fulfill this desire. If you were someone who likes to stay close to home you could have a studio in your house. If you wanted to have a large audience you could aspire to work for a national publication.
