My personal faith and beliefs will allow me to contribute to Liberty’s mission to develop Christ-centered leaders because the Lord has done miraculous things in my life that I would want others to know about and realize that we do have an incredible God. I have accepted Jesus into my life when I was about seven, and I cannot even express how great it is to be a child of God. The Lord has put obstacles in my life, but I need to always remember to lean on Him in times of good and bad, not when coming to the Lord is convenient for me. I want to pursue the Lord every step of the way in my life and give Him all the praise and glory that the Lord deserves. I want to attend different groups at Liberty or possibly lead groups when I get adjusted
My beliefs are important to me. I wake up every morning with a cup of coffee in my hand and turn on the daily news. I see many problems occurring around the world, but most of us are too blind to actually do something to help. We are too blinded by our society's cultural that we can’t separate ourselves from the good and bad.
In ninth grade, I began to participate in my school’s Young Life ministry program and soon started volunteering as student leader to increase my efforts to reach out and love others at my school. As a student leader, I have helped lead small group, been a campaigner for bible studies, and have gone to Young Life’s camp at Lake Champion to help lead the younger students. Through my words of encouragement and actions to put my friends first, I have absolutely loved seeing the joy and excitement that they have experienced through Young
refugees, and the second generation who were born here in the states. Finally, I feel now that I have the vision to work on myself to know more about my attitude, my future therapeutic values in the field practices. At the same time, I am planning to work more with my personal therapist on the values, beliefs, and emotions and I will be happy to know about myself more.
Through hard work and commitment I have become a well-rounded leader beyond my age. I set goals and take pride in achieving them. This is evident in my involvement in the lives of my friends, community, school, and church. I serve through volunteer service, community outreach, and school involvement. I have been an audio and light technician for 9 years mixing audio for various school concerts, musicals, dramas, and other performances. I have donated more than 1,000 hours of community service into local organizations in the treasure valley since I was in middle school. I am currently a part of the National Honor Society chapter at my high school. I want to inspire others to serve without wanting to be recognized. I put into my classes what
My application to Wesley Seminar is an important step for me in the next phase of my own learning process. Growing pastorally, professionally and in grace-full leadership will enable me to connect with key areas of development throughout my graduate studies. Ultimately, what I learn will better equip me to fulfill the Great Commission and do so leading like Jesus.
I am an undocumented student at UC Davis. When I am asked a simple question such as, "describe your personal experiences", I ask myself: Where do I begin?
As a small group leader at the Crossing, the church I attend, I am a member of the leadership team that serves over early childhood. Being a member of this team has given me experience working with children both individually and in a group situation. Each week kids expand their knowledge of the bible through conversation, crafts, singing, dancing, and storytelling. It is my responsibility to arrive prepared to oversee all of these activities as well as answer questions to ensure that every child learns and enjoys themselves during our time together. In addition, I also
Destiny can be generally regarded as predestined. The experience of studying in America, attending Christian school, serving others as well as Christianity study was parts of God's plan, which I believe was what God meant for me.
My desire to be a role model to the youth in my church and spread God's word have provided for different leadership roles. I have been a greeter, and an acolyte, as well as a vacation bible school leader. Being the primary nursery attendant has been another role that has allowed me to inspire and support youth. I read the scripture readings in front of the church, and was t...
Fully half of the teenagers by the age of sixteen have had some strong beliefs that they believe in. The things I have believed in since I was sixteen have really made a huge impact on my life. My beliefs have really made me look on life at a different approach. Also the beliefs I have had since I was sixteen help me to become an outstanding individual. Some of the main things I believe in are God; nothing is giving to you, and memories.
Robert Clinton states “The central task of leadership is influencing God’s people toward God’s purposes” (Clinton, 1988). George Barna defines a Christain Leader as “someone who is called by God to lead; leads with and through Christlike character; and demonstrates the functional competencies that permit effective leadership to take place” (Barna, 1997). It is a shame we as Christians fail to recognize that Christ would have us be leaders in more than the church.
Every Sunday. Stares and disappointment. I sat with my grandmother at this big church. People would stare when they realized I didn't know the prayers or songs. I was trying to learn more about religion why did I feel so scared? Am I going to find where I belong? Will I have enough time? These are questions I sometimes have to ask myself. When I was little I explored many religions but now that i'm older I am frightened about faith.
Besides academics, fine arts and sports in school, I have attained leading roles in different groups. This year, I am the Spirit Leader of Student Council encouraging monthly goals and themes and assisting in school events. From creating a student council with a group of peers three years ago we have had success in many events and have found new ways to spread spirit, gather important information and assist with financial groups. Recently, I stepped up to be the leader of the fundraising committee for our ...
While volunteering at Fallbrook Church I have been guided, nurtured, and challenged through the process. I have been able to utilize skills acquired throughout this year that enhance my volunteer service. The foundation is rooted in fellowship, classroom, and weekly Reach Out services for the community. The foundation for the church is community service; my pastor has set forth and shared vision of supporting one another through community service; this is seen through repeated efforts to support Community functions, Computer, Computer Education, Community Resources.
My personality was quite charismatic. It is said that I was a sure leader of men. Seldom was I plagued with self doubt. I saw my mission as not only bringing the "Good News" to the Gentiles, but also to organize the Church so that it would grow, even when I was not present to urge it on. Thus, I created an organization and trained leaders. This organization would one day become modern Christianity as it came to supersede the original authority of the Church in Jerusalem.
