As a student at Northvale Public School, I grew up with my older siblings being inducted into an organization called the National Junior Honor Society. I had seen all the hard work and dedication they put into their school work and activities just to get into this society, making me want to be just like them. Then a few weeks ago, I found a note on my desk in the homeroom telling me that I had been nominated to be apart of this society. Through citizenship and character, leadership, and service, I intend on being inducted into the society I have heard so much about. Moreover, I have an escalating regard for freedom and justice, and I make a steady effort to prevent injustice in my school, work, and community. I have done many hours of community service over the past few years. I've been helping out and volunteering at the assisted living Evergreen Knoll, in Cloquet. I help prepare meals and deliver them to the residents tables. I go there for bingo nights, setting up activities
Let’s flash back in time to before our college days. Back to then we had lunch trays filled with rubbery chicken nuggets, stale pizza, and bags of chocolate milk. A backpack stacked with Lisa Frank note books, flexi rulers, and color changing pencils. The times where we thought we wouldn’t make it out alive, but we did. Through all the trials and tribulations school helped build who I am today and shaped my future. From basic functions all the way to life-long lessons that helped shape my character.
People ask me how am I so involved in high school activities, have a job, and maintain my grades. It’s not as hard as people think. In order to do that you have to have strong time management and be organized. This can be difficult when you have a lot of responsibilities. I have been involved in activities since my seventh grade year and each year I have increased the amount of involvement. The clubs that I am currently in are Key Club, Mu Alpha Theta, National Honors Society, BETA, DECA, Yearbook and NJROTC. I have only been interested in one sport within the community and my school is Softball. In addition, I have babysat, worked at Chick-Fil-A and currently work at Panera Bread.
