National Honor Society I am honored to be among the exemplary students who are being considered to be accepted to National Honor Society. I learned while researching National Honor Society that it calls upon students with outstanding academics and character. Throughout my life I believe I have demonstrated these qualities along with leadership from my participation in school, teams, and clubs. School allows many opportunities to grow as a person, and show your personality. Within class I am always an active participant, I always add my input in discussion, and work to answers questions. I can recall last year our president came up with a No Shave November fundraiser which involved a “who can grow the longest beard?” type of contest. We all had to sign up for committees that were a part of the set up. I co chaired an advertisement committee where we set up posters and got the word out about this new event so students would get involved. When it came down to sign ups, there was a low attendance. I overheard a group of guys arguing with each other about the contest and who would win, seeing that the competition part really excited them I challenged them to all join for the fun of it and a possible prize if they did win. All of them signed up that day and even though the event didn't end up being successful it was fun to see them involved and questioning me everyday about who was winning. To enjoy life and to create and experience new opportunities I believe you have to be an involved and concerned person. I would love the opportunity to join National Honor Society and prove in person my abilities. I am dedicated to being successful, and I believe being apart of NHS would further my accomplishment.
