Personal Narrative: My First Football Game

Every morning I woke to the bright shining sun and the chirping of birds. But this day was unlike any day. I rapidly lifted my body and slammed my feet on the hardwood floor. I quickly went over to my drawer and pulled out my favorite black soccer shorts and white soccer jersey, and off I went to the tryouts for a new team. There I saw tall muscular players who clearly had more experience than me. They passed the ball with exact precision. They had tremendous skills to show both on and off the field. They even had the newest, most expensive vibrant cleats. I had old cleats with a hole on the tip of my right foot. But I did not let that discourage me. It was as if the universe was giving me a sign to just give up. I did not wake up to a shining sun, but instead to the noise of the vacuum coming from the thin white walls around my room. I did not rise up from my bed instead, I covered my head over with the white sheets and hoped to fall back at sleep where I didn't have to worry about anything. But I thought to myself, “ You can’t give up just because one team won't accept you, practice hard and show them what they missed.” After hours of convincing myself, I decided to quickly get dressed without any hesitation. I walked out of my room towards the back door, where I noticed that It was still wet and muggy outside, but I did not let something so little stop me. I quickly opened the door and ran outside. There I saw my white beaten up ball, wet and covered in mud. I ran towards it as it was the first time I ever saw it. I practiced by kicked the ball back and forth towards the concrete wall and throwing the ball up until it hit the leaves of tree branches above me. I precisely tracked where it would land, and I would be there waiting to control it towards me. I did this day after day nonstop, changing a few things each time. Until I remembered that I could have still tried out for the Central High School soccer team. Every day I woke up every at 9 AM sharp to arrive 30 minutes before everybody and get a little more practice done. I did this with no one noticing, I simply did it because doing this is what I love and I was dedicated with all my heart. This went for a whole month and I felt extremely confident I would make the team. Until one day, where every other player was acting different, but I had no idea what was going on.
