So there I was getting ready to cut the pumpkin and then it started to glow. “Oh look a newcomer, let me start from the beginning of the story”. It was three days before Halloween Michael and I were going to the farm to pick up a pumpkin for our Halloween party to make my famous pumpkin pie for the party. We went creepy looking farm and when we got there we thought just decorations Halloween. Farmer Jason was there to greet us when we entered the gates. We went to fields to find a pumpkin. There was nothing there. We decided to go to the corn maze the skeletons in there looked a little too real to me. Michael said he had fun, so i guess that is all that matters really. After we got out of the maze Farmer Jason was there to greet us and he ad found a pumpkin for us. It was exactly what we wanted for our pie big, plump, and ripe. When we got to buy the Pumpkin Jason says “Be careful with that pumpkin they usually don’t stay that ripe a long period of time.” So …show more content…
I started to think about when farmer Jason told us that the pumpkin was special made me worry. Michael had just got home and I asked him to gut the pumpkin I heard a scream then he was gone. Michael was just gone poof, bye bye, I didn’t Know what to do my son was gone. I thought he was just playing a prank so I went to cut the pumpkin and it started to glow. “ What if Michael gut sucked in there” I thought to myself. I went to the far To confront Jason I told him what happened he admitted that he sold us a cursed pumpkin. Now what was I going to do, I called the cops And Jason was arrested, but Michael was still gone. Jason told me to cut the pumpkin to release Michael. So I did and nothing happened Michael was gone. Forever. I was never going to be able to see my son ever again. So now in his honor on halloween night i make my special pumpkin pie and leave it out just in case Michael came back even though I knew he never
“Strange Fruit” by Billie Holiday conveys the inhumane, gory lynchings of African-Americans in the American South, and how this highly unnatural act had entrenched itself into the society and culture of the South, almost as if it were an agricultural crop. Although the song did not originate from Holiday, her first performance of it in 1939 in New York City and successive recording of the song became highly popular for their emotional power (“Strange fruit,” 2017). The lyrics in the song highlight the contrast between the natural beauty and apparent sophistication of the agricultural South with the brutal violence of lynchings. Holiday communicates these rather disturbing lyrics through a peculiarly serene vocal delivery, accompanied by a hymn-like
Within the picture before me, I see myself. I was dressed in all black; black dress shoes, black pants, a black button-down shirt with a sleek black tie, a black suit jacket, black gloves, a black ski mask, and a black fedora to top it all off. I am not entirely sure what I was supposed to be. Was I a mobster, a thief, or even a personification of the night? The date was Halloween and I was sitting on a bench in front of my house, waiting to scare or give out candy to anybody who approached the door. That year, we had not decorated our house as well as previous years; but we still had a few last minute ideas implemented o let people know that they were welcome to approach. There was a rotating red beacon flashing, jack-o-lantern cutouts over the porch light, and creepy music playing loudly. Despite the decorations, not one person came to our house and hardly anyone had decorated for the holiday along my street. I remember feeling disappointment when I realized that nobody was going to¬¬¬¬ come and anger as people walked by our house without a second glance.
I left to be free. I'm Arnald the turkey. I was in a pen for what seemed like forever. I ran away because they said Thanksgiving was coming. They said they would pick the meatiest one of all the turkeys on the farm. I new I was the one. I had heard of this dredful holiday but I had never experanst it. So I knew I had to plan my escape. So my plan was to go in the hole were Peter the pig goes poo-poo. And travel under ground until I saw another hole. I went up and I felt like I was in a different world. Then I saw a man I was to tired to run but he did not want me for Thanksgiving. I'm so glad I ran
One day, a fourteen-year-old boy named Jonathan Price found himself lying down in the grass and suddenly thought, where are mom and dad? Where am I? He did not realize that he had walked one hundred and fifty miles east of his home in Wichita, Kansas and blacked out the previous day, October 19th, and blacked out. As he got up out of the grass, he felt a strange desire for food. He started wandering in the direction he thought was home. He started to go through a forest when he saw a beautiful waterfall joining in to a river. As he walked over to the river he found what he thought was an apple on the floor and ate it almost immediately. After he finished the so-called apple, he drank some water. He started to feel sock and looked at the apple in his hands only to realize that he had actually picked up an orange.
In the James family Thanksgiving is far from perfect but this year I wanted to change that. Know more playing Minecraft on the Xbox. It's just going to be chatting at the dinner table and eating till we pass out, while watching football. I was determined this will be the perfect Thanksgiving. But know I had to pick out my outfit for tomorrow.
Every Halloween night at this very graveyard the spirit of Jason Voorhees comes out to seek his vengeance on anyone who steps foot in the graveyard. Back in 1985, Jason was a young boy out on Halloween night going from house to house collecting candy. As he just finished at Mr. Stew’s house a group of kids walked passed him and told him that they scored big at the graveyard at the end of the street. So little Jason started for the graveyard. Once he reached the graveyard, he went in but he didn't see any houses so he started to wander around aimlessly in the dark. Then all of the sudden a loud boom filled the air!
Once upon a time, The four friends head to the pumpkin patch The four friends were Alyssa,Grady,Kyah, and Sydney. It was a spooky night. Alyssa said “ Let’s get a pumpkin to carve for Halloween”. She picked it up and showed it to the friends “That is the perfect pumpkin let’s buy it” said Kyah The pumpkin was a little bumpy it was still perfect. “ This is unbelieveable how you found this pumpkin Emily” said Alyssa. .On the way to Sydney’s house they were walking and laughing with excitement.
I really love coffee, ice cream and pie. I had my first piece of pumpkin pie of the season tonight. It was quite delightful. I also ate it with good friends which made it even better.
Late autumn has arrived and with it comes the dark magic of Halloween--and, of course, the
The date was October 31, 2002. The time was two in the afternoon. The little children across the street walked outside their house to carve a massive pumpkin. The pumpkin had a thick brown stem and a bright orange color, which glimmered in the afternoon sun. Something was really strange about the pumpkin, but I could not put my finger on exactly what was different. The children, who were abundantly excited to go trick-or-treating in a few hours, started carving the round pumpkin.
Nicky’s father took his son out with the intention of having him look for a pumpkin and bringing it back home. Not at all did he suspect to encounter anything more but indeed he did. Nicky and his father went looking for a pumpkin at as place that he describes as “a piece of land so devoid of life and interest that from January to October, I’m certain, no one sees it at all”.
That made me so happy and then he became the Pumpkin King again. He was not a Christmas person he is a Halloween person that is why he said sorry and became the Pumpkin King again. That is why it inspired me and that it is a good book. And I didn’t know that the book was made in 1993.
The night before Halloween, started out swell, but as the day went on, it turned out to get much more exciting. Hallie was walking down the street and looking at all the decorations that were hung up throughout the neighborhood. Her favorite was the light blue wooden house that was nestled along the corner of Pine Avenue and Ivy Hollow. There were paper ghosts and gravestones set out all through the yard. The columns on the porch were covered with spider webs and bats hung from the ceiling. Hallie’s memory had just kicked in. She remembered her friend’s house had once had bats that looked just like the ones hanging from the porch that she stood in front of right now.
I made it to Big Lots, where Jonathan works, and I forced him to come outside and look at my car. Then we sat and talked for a while and I bragged about how I was going to my grandma’s house to eat a good home-cooked meal, while he would be forced to eat fast food again. When I left Big Lots, I still had a little time before church let out, so I drove back to Gray to the Dollar Store for some supplies for a Spanish class project I was doing that week. Finally I pulled into my grandparents’ driveway, and I noticed the door was closed. I thought this was unusual because I knew my grandpa was home, but I had forgotten a school fundraiser form for my aunts to look at, so I turned around and drove back home to Jonesborough. While driving home my friend Rachel and her mother were behind me, they followed me all the way to my house. I thought it was some kind of joke, but when we pulled into my driveway, Rachel yelled, “Get in the car! They had to take your grandma to the hospital.”
