Dodgeball- a game where you try to kill each other with giant, red, rubber balls. Whoever came up with this so called game should be punished. Severely. The worst part about this is that we are not allowed to use magic of any kind. Not that it would be any use to me for offense but defense I would be unstoppable. A loud shriek escaped my lips as a ball zoomed passed my head and hit the wall behind me with such speed that it when it made contact with the wall it made a loud smack and bounced right off the wall. I looked it the direction of which the ball came, it's source Ty. Ty: a S-Class wizard with a tall, lean, muscular frame and fire like ginger hair. He's a strong, powerful wizard that many girls see as the perfect boyfriend because he's handsome and kind. …show more content…
He beats every one athletically and in magic power. I slowly started to back away from the middle of the class and towards the side lines - where I am less likely to get hit. What I didn't notice was that there was a girl right behind me facing her back towards me. I did not realize she was there until I backed completely into her. Shocked by the sudden contact I jumped quickly away and into the way of a passing ball. "Lenka!" Mr. Sky's booming voice rang through the gym room. "Drop and give me twenty!" He yelled. On impulse I saluted before dropping to the ground landing on my arms I started my twenty push ups. After my push ups I stood back up more motivated to not get hit by another ball. First, I need some allies and a meat shield. I scanned the room searching for the perfect shield when my eyes met with Marina. Marina: a not so powerful wizard that has been stuck in B-Class for three years. She's a short but muscular for a girl and is quite ill tempered. I pranced my way over to her before beginning my speech. "Hello, Marina." I smiled, "How would you like to make a deal?" I asked my smile growing bigger as I tilted my head and squeezed my eyes
Based on the article, The Weak Shall Inherit the Gym, dodgeball should stay in schools. Dodgeball is a sport in which people would throw a ball at another person. If the ball hits the other person then they are considered out. This sport allows people to unleash their anger out at someone without actually physically hurting them. Dodgeball allows the kids to experience the experiences the kids may have in the outside world as well as giving them confidence to face their challenges.
Dodgeball is a game of many facets. On one hand, it is a game that encourages everyone to stand up for themselves since everyone is on their own team, while on the other hand, it is a game where you aggressively pummel others with balls and pick on the weak. As a result of the varying possible viewpoints of opinion, some schools ban it, and others do not. The logic of some schools is that it labels others as human targets. On the contrary, it can encourage people to figure out who is weak and strong and how they could deal with these personalities. Although a solid case could be made for each side, dodgeball should not be banned in physical education classes due to the benefit of being able to let out aggression and the need to learn the ways of healthy competition.
Finally, it’s all fun and games. The kids don’t mean to hurt each other and if they did, it doesn’t hurt that much. Plus I personally looked forward to playing dodgeball in middle school because it looked like such a fun game that tested you reflexes and agility. Even though there are other games similar to dodgeball none of them have the same feeling as the original game. On top of that, if they think dodgeball is inappropriate don’t ban a whole group of games such as tag and gymnastics, just ban dodgeball.
The game requires too little or too much physical activity, it has to go. A child is accidentally hurt during a game, the game must be made illegal. Rick Reilly in The Weak Shall Inherit the Gym again states, “Seriously. So, if we give them dodgeball, you can look for these games to be banned next: Tag. Referring to any child as it is demeaning and hurtful. Instead of the child hollering, ‘You’re it!’ we recommend, ‘You’re special!’...Capture the flag. Mimics war. Kick the can. Unfair to the can. If we let these PC twinkies have their way, we’ll be left with: Duck-duck-duck. Teacher spends the entire hour patting each child softly on the head.” (lines 34 - 39 & 43 - 46) Children don’t think about how the game is unfair, they think How do I win? Who should I aim for? Playing a game of dodgeball is a time where kids can let loose and have
Dodgeball was born over 200 years ago in Africa, where they used rocks to throw at each other and worked together as a team. The game is still played today and uses the same aspect of teamwork, but foam balls are used instead of rocks. Many people think that dodgeball is still too violent and shouldn’t exist. Dodgeball should not be banned in schools because it has health benefits, offers a challenge, and lets students look forward to going to school.

Slamball is a high flying and high intensity game, which comprises elements of basketball and football. The athletic concepts are the same but applied to Slamball in a different manner. There are four players for each team on the court at all times, four separate trampolines on each side of the court, a fenced in court, and plenty of head gear and padding to go around. Slamball is meant to catch the viewer’s eye and give them an unmatched adrenaline rush.
Probably one of the most important decisions I've made in my life happened this year. The decision was me , choosing whether i wanted to do drumline or play hockey. As a freshman going into the first year of highschool, it lead me to think of plenty of things. But one important fact that stuck out was me deciding if I wanted to pursue music or sports. As a freshman , I knew that I couldn't balance sports and marching band at the same time. Rehearsal for marching band happened everyday after school until 5 pm. I knew I couldn't do homework and study for tests with only 3 hours if hockey started at 9. So, I made the decision of choosing drumline over hockey. Not only would it help me balance my time doing homework, it would also help me on my
As I layed in my bed on a cold and windy Friday night, i could hear the roar from Fenway park across the street. The Red Sox had a game tonight against their long time rival the New York Yankees. Their games would always be so thrilling and so exciting to be at, i was a young 15 year old boy who like everyone else wanted to be a MLB baseball player. I had always dreamed about playing on that beautiful and playing against those Yankees. Living in Boston mostly everyone here absolutely hates the yankees. I was having a hard time going to bed so i looked outside and was looking at all the people outside walking outside the Ballpark.
To begin with, like most active games played in gym class, dodgeball
All throughout high school I played on the softball team. Proceeding the season before where we went undefeated with a district championship, my senior year we were supposed to be unstoppable. We received a few new players to add on to our army and the entire school was counting on our run to state. I was so excited to have an amazing end to my high school softball career, but unfortunately my dream was cut short when we lost in the first round of districts. I did not know that loss would change me the way it did.
Sports play a very important role in my life ever since I could walk. My interests in playing sports began at the age of three as my parents signed me up for soccer, flag football, basketball, and lacrosse. First grade started my competitive edge as I began to play for travel teams in various sport tournaments. This competitive edge transferred from the sports field to the classroom having teachers and coaches helping me be the best I can be. Sports have continually well-shaped and defined my character by teaching me how to accept a win from working hard, also how a loss is an opportunity to learn and fix mistakes.
Do you want to abolish dodge ball? Is it really an apt game? Do you want your children to play this eradication activity? Dodge ball is perceived differently by many diverse individuals. Dodge ball has its pros and cons, but what do you think? While some critics covet it, others do not, like myself, who deems that this hazardous game is not a pertinent exercise for juvenile students.
Sweat, aching muscles, and green spread out before me. I’d been practicing, I went hard and did my best to improve in every possible aspect. I worked not only on my form, my precision, and my power, but also on my mind; my mental game. I had to tell myself I could do it, I had to be confident in myself, no reassurance from others. I was told I had no chance, how could I win. I was expected to lose, and I thought I would.
They are said to be the size of an American football field (Hill, 2015). The object of the game seems to be to hit a ball over the line using nothing but your knees, hips and buttocks (Klein, 2016). The game is said to have resembled volleyball in that there was a constant motion of the ball. The game requires you to hit the ball back-and-forth over a line that is in the middle between teams. The ball bounces just once, but it bounces more than once you lose a point.
