The reason I say this I as I believe that my worldviews are practical and realistic. As the text states, the worldview has to be workable and practical to areas and experiences of one’s life. If you are seriously engaged in learning about worldview, you are literally on the cutting edge of understanding the role in our modern world. The world we live in now is radically different from the world as it was when I was growing up.
Understanding of worldview can give us internal stability by providing knowledge about what we believe. A lack of confidence about what we believe leads to internal insecurity. This insecurity causes us to doubt ourselves and to not be able to stand strong in the face of opposing ideas. A second thing that understanding worldview gives us is the ability to defend our beliefs in the face of opposition. Everyone has a worldview some of which are not good or positive but regardless it is important that I stand true to my assertion and belief that God does exist and there is a God. That is, how can someone know when he is in possession of the kind of faith that issues in salvation, now and forever more? Some insist that right doctrine is the essence of true faith. Many claim that nothing more than sincerely believing is the fundamental requirement. Others argue that some extraordinary manifestation of the Spirit is the real hallmark of saving faith. With so many different voices making their case for the essence of true faith, how shall we decide between them? The essence of Christian worldview contends that God is set apart from and transcends his creation who creates in his own image and likeness. A Christian worldview is built on a universal principle and all-embracing system that shapes religion, natural and humanities, and all disciplines of study with application for all of life. The essence of Christian worldview is that God exists and is manifested through the universe. The worldview also profess that humans are made in the image and likeness of God and have a divine purpose on earth. It is believed that we are created with a purpose which must be fulfilled.
