Hiss, hiss the sound surrounds you and scares you. You think to turn back but there is no escape to that sound. That one horrifying sound. Then something musters up inside you, a divine bravery that tells you to fight. This is the story of Perseus and the Gorgon Medusa and how he killed her to save his own life. Perseus is a true Greek Hero, he has all the qualities. First of all, he is of divine ancestry being that his father is Zeus, the king of the gods. Secondly, he proved himself as a hero by killing a monstrous being named Medusa and bringing her head back to be hailed as a hero. Finally, he married a princess and he is one of the few greek heroes to live happily ever after and not be killed in some odd way. Perseus is one of the most well known greek heros and is known all over the world. He has been popularized by many things including the Percy Jackson books and the movies based on that book. Many other things have risen the popularity of Perseus and have made him one of the icons for greek heros today. …show more content…

He found a wife when he was flying back on the pegasus. According to theoi.com he was flying back on the pegasus when he spotted Andromeda being attacked by a sea monster and he saved her. They ended up going back to the kingdom and killing Phineas. According to mythindex.com afterwards he went to Athena and gave her the head of Medusa. Then he took his mother and Andromeda to Argos and they lived there for the rest of their lives. A comparison to that is some other Greek heroes did live happily ever after but Perseus is the most popular of them to live like that and not have a strange death.
