Percy's Loyalty In The House Of Hades

Percy is one of the most important half bloods in The House of Hades. Along with Annabeth, Percy ventured through tartarus, trying to find the doors of death, and get out alive. Percy is a son of Poseidon, and has many water related powers, which include breathing underwater, controlling bodies of water, and turning himself into a water tornado. Percy is known to his friends as extremely loyal, in fact, many people throughout the book say that his loyalty to his friends is his main weaknesses. In fact, the goddess Athena tells Percy that he would “sacrifice the world” (Riordan, 298) to save someone he really cares about. If he would go to such an extent to save someone, Percy’s fatal flaw is definitely that he has too much loyalty. Percy is very important to the story. Of the crew of the Argo II, he is the one who kept everyone together. He is the ¨glue,¨ or so to speak. One moment in the story that proves this is while Percy is in tartarus, trying to find the the doors of death, the rest of the crew are still on the Agro II. First of all, he was a great fighter, and was always useful in a battle, with his lightning powers and ability to fly. His ability to fly came useful in many situations. For example, when the bandit Sciron kicked him off a cliff, he was able to fly back up, and with a little help from Hazel, was able to defeat Sciron. He also took up the responsibility of being a leader while Annabeth was in tartarus. He himself even says that, “Jason had tried his best to act as the group's leader.” (Riordan, 58). Also, Jason had been praetor, a roman leader, before going on the quest. This makes him the most qualified of being the leader after Annabeth. Since he was the next most qualified, and had tried to be a leader in Annabeth’s absence, Jason’s role in The House of Hades was definitely as a leader and
