Obstacles are something that we all face in our lives. Whether it’s something small or huge. But it’s when we overcome them that we realize that we came out stronger than ever. Liz Murray is one person, who has demonstrated overcoming obstacles in her life. Liz didn’t always have a great life. When she was just a child, her parents were addicted to drugs. There would be days where her parents, took the money for food and bought drugs instead. By age 15, Liz decided that she had had enough. She realized that the only way out, was to break the cycle in her life." I was re-creating a cycle, and something had to change.” So she left. When Kyle was growing up, he realized that he was different than other kids. "Grandma, why am I different from other kids." Kyle has a rare condition called congenital amputation. Which means that he doesn’t have arms, or legs. People would say to him that it would be impossible for him to play sports. "That's impossible!, But Kyle Maynard was the impossible." But Kyle didn’t let that stop him, because later that year Kyle had became a wrestling sensation. Kyle went onto win 35 more tournaments that year. Even though Kyle was different, he pushed through all of his struggles. Now he is a inspirational speaker, and still a great athlete. The poem “Mother to Son” by Langston Hughes, is another example of overcoming obstacles. In the poem, the mother told the son that her life wasn’t always as it seems.”My life ain't been no crystal stair." But she kept on moving. "But all this time, i've been climbing onto, And sometimes going on in the dark,When there ain't been no light." She tells her son don’t give up, even when things get hard. "So boy, don't you turn back know. Don't you set down on the steps." She inspired her son not to give up, and to stay
