Forced into Chicago
The conflicts I go up against in daily life are usually hard or difficult to overcome or conquer, even if they end on a positive note. My conflicts are usually similar to everyone else’s; I’m fighting with a friend, I have a hard test to take, or even having a tryout for an extracurricular activity, but this conflict was different. I had to leave everything and everyone I knew and move to Chicago, Illinois because my dad got a promotion for his job.
Moving to Chicago was not just going to be difficult, it was going to be the hardest conflict I had ever faced or even thought of facing. I knew straight from the start that it would be a difficult task and journey. I thought for sure my parents were either crazy or joking when they were going to make me leave my family, friends, school, sports, and community to move to an entirely different state. As soon as my parents told me the news, I had all of these memories and moments flash back through my brain of my friends, family, and greatest moments at one hundred miles an hour. For the first three or four months getting use to the schedule and routines was a hard yet manageable task to handle. I had to make new friends, try out for new sports teams, adapt to the environment I was put into, and keep my grades up. The entire school year was a crazy rollercoaster ride, and I was dying to get off. Towards the end of the sixth grade school year, my parents sat down my siblings and me, and told us the best news anyone could bring to the table. We were going to move back home to Indiana. The news was intensifying and incredible towards our family. We would finally be able to get to see all of our relatives and friends
