There are many ways to use writing and it happens all over the world every day. Receptionists, office workers, computer programmers, teachers, doctors, scientists, engineers, firemen, lawyers, jobs everywhere use writing in some way or another. At hand is the different ways people can use writing; to name a few, people fill out information and paperwork, write books, papers in school, texts, checks, journals, laws, tickets, accident reports, lab write ups, prescriptions, and many other things that can all have a diverse style of writing. The real question is, where did writing begin for me?
A child’s first writing experience can really affect how the child feels about it for the rest of their life and it usually happens in preschool or Kindergarten. …show more content…

I was sitting in class on the first day of Kindergarten at a table with a bunch of hooligans I didn’t know. Mrs. Bowers was my teacher and she gave our class an assignment. We were given a sheet of paper that looked like the size of China and were told to write our name nice and big. Of course I was thinking I’d be the best writer in the class coming from two years of preschool so I cockily picked up my pencil and started to write. Instead of being able to nicely pick up my pencil and write my name, I picked up my pencil and smacked the kid’s hand next to me. I made the discovery I was left handed and most people were right handed. Oh goodie, this was fun. Moral of the story, I hated writing because I …show more content…

Think about it, almost everything you write is to communicate something. In math it’s to give an answer, in English it’s to give the teacher your opinion or to answer a topic, at a job it’s to let people know of information, a text asks or tells someone something, all variations of communication. Without writing, how would we communicate? Writing correlates with reading; you have to be able to read in order to write and vice versa. You can’t write a word down if you haven’t read it somewhere or been taught it before and you can’t read if you don’t know the very basics of writing, which is the alphabet. Letters are used to makes up words, which makes up writing. It is important for me to be literate in both reading and writing because it will help make you successful in life and if you’re good at writing can help get you into college because a lot of people can’t write
