Ten years ago my world changed forever. My father was killed and a part of my culture died with him. The white men rebuilt our lives with their god and laws. I may have been the most like my father but now I am just another mother worried for her three children. I can not fight the directly but I can preserve my culture. I can tell the story of my father so that one day my children will be able to chose the life they live and not be forced like I had. I never have been what people expected.

I bit back my growing anger, “If you would stop interrupting me I could tell you the story. I am trying to teach you something.”
The children shut their mouths after I snapped at them and listened obediently.
“Once upon a time there was the last true man. He gained honor and glory by defeating the best wrestler in all of the villages. He worked hard and built a grand farm from nothing. He had lived his entire life in poverty and disgrace but he knew that he did not want that life for himself or his family ever again. He worked hard and gained respect. He was fierce in battle and brought home heads as trophies. He was very well respected but he made some mistakes. He was forced from his village but he did not let that stop him. He rebuilt his life to his former glory and then he came back to his home. Things had changed but he stayed strong in his beliefs. He let no man determine his way and he worked for everything he had. Eventually, the change became to much and he died because he could not stand to see his precious world collapse around him. His world and everything he had ever worked for crumbled and with him died a culture of once mighty people. He was the last true man who bowed to no man and earned everything he had. John was eyeing her warily while Matthew was slowly processing the story.
“I thought violence was wrong and that the Bible tells you not to kill people,” Matthew said quietly.

From birth, to childhood, to adolescence, Vlad’s life was brutal and gruesome. He fought and led many wars. He killed thousands of people including his own subjects. Despite being a ruthless murderer and leader, Vlad the Impaler led his people into Independence and peace. In some people’s eyes he is considered a hero.
From the beginning of his life as a warrior to the end as a king, he gains and develops glory, responsibility and courage, all vital to his reign as a successful king.
He goes by the name of Gilgamesh. He is the king of Uruk. He is a charming, tough, and an insanely smart man. He built high walls around his city to keep people out, and built incredible towers and monuments. Gilgamesh had a tyrannical behavior that made him fail in his most important duties to his people.
Throughout the story, Beowulf handles many tough situations in which he almost always comes out the hero, saving the lives of the citizens. Beowulf pays a lot of attention to the people, and in turn, becomes a strong king with many admirers.
He is most famous for impaling his enemies on sticks around his castle. He taught himself how to miss vital organs in the body, causing the victim to die a slow painful death. This is why people consider him an ancient vampire. What people don’t know about him is that the rich loved him, but the poor hated him. To anyone that didn’t have to seal to make it by he was great.
He had suffered the pain of not achieving anything in life. His suffering was so huge that it made him to change completely and gave him a new goal in life. As he says, “ … The man of good capabilities and good emotions, incapable of their directed exercise, incapable of his own help and his own happiness, sensible of the ……………….resigning himself to let it eat him away”( Book 2, chapter 5, p.g 69). It is evident that he was suffering from the incapability of doing for his own happiness and he was fed up of his life and wanted to die. As he also conveys, “ Don’t shrink from anything I say.
He was a very simple man who had lost all hope and was only waiting to die. He knew that someday, his city and his town would be taken over and he refused to get enslaved. This is probably why he restricted himself from everyone and everything and stayed alone at home all day. He didn’t have any more desires or expectations from life and thus had nothing more to ask for or live for. But, as things changed, he changed too.
He did his best in whatever he did. Even though everyone discouraged him and talked behind his back about how he, as such a small boy would not be able to do anything, he used his fullest potential to do everything he did with sincerity. Life was very complex for him from the age of 8, but he managed to jump over the many obstacles with a smile on his face.
