My Reflection Of My Experience In Accounting

I have learnt so much in this internship, such as firm operation, accounting information system and question-asking skills. Firstly, I have known more the operation of the CPA accounting firm. Nowadays, it does not only provide accounting, tax and audit services, but it also provides company secretarial and consulting services. Secondly, I have learnt the importance of accounting information system. The director, who was an accountant and does not have Programming background, studied the website programming by himself in order to develop the website accounting information system. He told me that development of the system could improve the efficiency of the operation and shown the applications on the computer screen. I appreciate this effort

First of all, I will be more careful to avoid some careless mistakes, such as typing error. I have understood that a professional accountant should not have any careless mistakes. In order to become a professional accountant, I have a responsibility to ensure that I do not have any material careless mistakes. Moreover, I will work more fast and improve my efficiency. As this is my first-time working in accounting profession, I always met many problems, which I did not know how to solve. It is not efficiency that I needed to spend too much times to seek the assistances from the co-workers. I believe my performance will be better when I work again since I know how to tackle the problems

In the aspect of accounting, I have learnt how to record the transaction in the petty cash and justify which accounts should be recorded. I have also acquired how to update and maintain the general ledgers base on some bank statements and vouchers. In the aspect of auditing, I have learnt how to perform the transaction test and cut off test and how to record the transactions accurately. I also acquire how to prepare the director’s report, audited financial statement. For example, I am responsible for preparing to audit a company independently which is an invaluable experience for me. I needed to prepare the audit plan, justify the audit risks, perform the vouching and transaction tests and check whether the company have any subsequent events. I have also acquired to audit based on the bank confirmation, voucher and minutes. In the aspect of tax, I have understood how to complete the profit tax return and tax computation and know how to hand it to Inland Revenue Department. In the aspect of and company secretarial, I have learnt the procedure of changing director, annual auditing, changing the shareholders and so on, know which forms should be prepared and where the forms should be handed
