It is the chordophones with bowing. There are four sizes in the string family: violin, viola, cello and double bass (the sizes are in order from smallest to biggest, respectively). Each instrument has four strings (except double bass may have five). The sounds are created when the bow is drawn across the strings (maybe one or more). While the right hand is used to hold the bow, “the left hand is used to stop the string by pressing a finger down at a particular point, thereby leaving a certain portion of the string free to vibrate” (page 40). Violin has the highest sound in the group. Thus, it can go from the softest to the loudest sound and create dramatic effects for the song. Trumpet is one of the main instruments in the brass family (aerophones). Other instruments in this family are French horn, trombone, and tuba. “All these instruments consist of cup-shaped mouthpieces attached to a length of metal tubing that flares at the end into a bell” (page 45). The trumpet is made by brass tube bent twice to create a shape of rounded oblong. As other instruments in the brass family, the sound is produced when players blow air throughout by closed lips. Trumpet has the highest register in the family. Trumpet has a bright and penetrating tone, and it is usually used for
The audience for writing project one: summary and response will be my classmates and my instructor, Avon Waters. I am writing this for English 111 – an online Ivy Tech college course. This is the first writing project of four for semester one. The assignment is to select a core reading resource from the group listed and perform a summary and response style paper, using proper APA formatting and introducing the concept of a situation analysis. The core reading piece I have selected is one that personally interested me, as it deals heavily with history and facts versus opinions and controversy. This will be in APA format, as with every other paper written in this course. My goal with this paper is to offer additional insight into the piece I

Starting with the classical era, documentation and musical education became an important topic. The term of musical appreciation started in the Classical period. Patrons from the time wanted to learn more about the music they were listening to. Patrons also started becoming more involved with the music and their composers. Composers became more of a public icon, and people wanted to see the people behind the music.
I am an Elementary Music Instructor who has the responsibility to educate the future musicians of the Kent Community Schools District and I am interested in the impact of instructional time and classroom organization on students' musical learning. In my capacity as the Elementary Music Instructor I strive to find the best strategies that would maximize the instructional time allotted for the students that are participating in the Elementary Music program. This has been a constant struggle with the continuous back and forth with the administration and the scheduling conflicts of the students. Not to mention pulling students for mandatory state testing from the music class assemblies and other non-musical things, this has been
Firstly, I will be playing 7 pieces; 6 with recorded accompaniment on my main instrument (the trumpet), and 1 with live accompaniment on a different instrument. I am currently unsure of what instrument I will be using for that piece, but I am leaning towards playing the piano and singing. For the three required RCM pieces, I am still in the middle of my search, but so far I would like to play Vladimir Bakaleinikoff’s “Serenade”, Richard Wagner’s “Walther’s Preislied”, and Leonard B. Smith’s “Tall Men”. For the remaining two pieces, I am unsure of what I will play but I will let you know ASAP.

At the age of 6, my mother had enrolled me in my first piano lesson, since I wanted to learn the deeper meanings of music. My teacher started off teaching me how to play simple classical Beethoven and Mozart songs. As I kept practicing, I researched more advanced classical masterpieces on YouTube and felt that my mind was devoted into sounds of elegance and peace ringing from a piano, accompanied by an orchestra. At age 8, I decided to try violin
To represent the wild, I chose a sheet of music because both depend on basic patterns to create the complexity present in both the wild and music. For instance, in music, a major scale always follows a pattern of “whole-whole-half-whole-whole-whole-half” in terms of distance from one note to the next. Even though a variety of major scales exist and have distinct differences in sound, each major scale follows the same pattern, from the basic C major scale to the more challenging F-sharp major scale. The same applies in the wild between the varying types of organisms. Despite the fact that they may not look, act, or live in the same habitat, all follows the same life cycle. All organisms are born and will die, no matter if they are a dandelion,
In piece of music, its hard to identify which instrument is playing or if there’s an actually instrument in the background. This song is based on electronically and digits beats created by the recording studio. In the past decades when listening to a piece of music, people are able to identify which instruments are playing from just listening to the piece. Modern music allows much more variation and more styles have evolved. In romantic period, everything was more organized and occur in a certain manor like for example composers who wrote polonaise, they were writing it for a purpose so the wealthy and royalty can participate in dance. In modern music artists have more freedom in choosing how they want to be representing and what kind of music they want to perform. Nowadays, they are much more vocalists who are famous then those artists who can play instruments. Modern music is evolving all their attention to the vocals and the lyrics of the piece and the instruments and beats are the background to it. The background music helps the lyrics
Dance is a form of physical expression that is different from most other arts. The physical abilities one has to have are incredible. Balance, poise, footwork, timing, strength, precision, and rhythm are some that come to mind when I think of what one must have to dance at a high level. I have considered the three questions that Mr. Peeler had given us to help give structure to our essays. I tried to look at the dance as a whole performance meaning I tried to look at every dance and how they related to each other, as well as look at the style of each original choreographer. I also tried to look other parts of the performance into account like the lighting, music, costume, and
I have been studying classical vocal repertoire for five years. My interest in music began when I began taking harp lessons at age 6. As I grew up, I surrounded myself with music, singing songs with my family, performing new pieces I had taught myself. In 5th grade, I began voice lessons, and intensely participated in my middle school choir the year after. Since then, I have honed my craft as a musician and performer.
