Moon Shadow is 8 years old and lives with his mother and grandmother.His father works for the white demons in the United States. He has never seen his father, but he knows he knows he is an amazing kite maker.His mother never liked talking about the demons. Later Uncle Bright Star came to take Moon Shadow to work in the land of the demons and to see his father.Moon Shadow goes to the land of the demons.Moon Shadow arrives at the company and see’s his father for the first time.He gets a gift from the company of boots. He also got a gift from his father, he got one of his special kites.On Moon Shadows first day at the company the white demons threw a brick through their window. Black dog and Moon Shadow were talking them Black Dog attacks Moon Shadow. Father later beats up Black dog for hurting Moon Shadow. Windrider and Moon Shadow leave the company and stay at a place that a demoness owns. She actually welcomes them and offers them milk and cookies. Her name was Mrs. Whitlaw and she takes care of her niece named Robin. Moon Shadow gets made fun of by demon boys and they even beat him up.Windrider is planning to build an airplane with the Wright’s..Windrider sends them a letter on how he wants to build an airplane. He has Mrs. Whitlaw check the final copy to make sure it's good. The Whitlaws become good friends with the Whitlaws. They go to the beach to have a picnic and to test out Windrider model glider.Moon Shadow has another fight with the demon boys, but this time he beats them up.After that the demon boys seem to excepted Moon Shadow. A huge earthquake hit San Francisco. They help dig people out of mounds of rubble.They have to go to Golden Gate Park because a huge fire is going to take out half the city. They get the Whitlaws valuables and lock the door for the last time before the fire comes.The Whitlaws and Moon Shadow goat with the company
